  2. if its down on one cylinder caused by one thing or another i bought one of them digital/laser temp guns had mine years as the v8 diesels were so noisy i could,nt tel what cylinder was down so used this tool to find the coolest exhust port then go further into it but as already suggested get it plugged into the computer and see what comes up erase the fault codes take it for a run then plug it back in again or the garage may take it on a live run plugged in to see whats going on under the bonnet anyway etc good luck hope it gets sorted very quickly ps i have a v6 passat diesel that was smoking no power etc and the fault was the turbo actuator diaphram split thus no boost so just check its not got a split/loose vacume pipe only trying to help etc

  12. also if you dont get confused with all the red tape its not in the councils interest to take you to court as it will cost a fortune and as its your livelyhood working from home the court does in more cases favour a bloke who,s trying to feed his family by working etc unless they can offer you an alternative so to speak whatever happens dont let,em grind you down to there level of thinking councils have some mad ideas and views towards planning just take it to the top overide the council etc good luck anyway not that you will need it just get on with the job in task let them do the running as stated there taking food off your table and wont look good in court griping about a bloke trying to provide for his family and there future etc i think they call it progress these days

  17. you will need to look at what gpm the pump produces then check the pipework is the correct size even rite down to the pipe fittings are not restricting flow we need pictures too please also the ram needs to be tested for seal bypass if its a s/h ram 8hp is fine but it should/would be better with a two stage pump as it will be working hard with a larger single stage pump go to flowfit on ebay theres a full list of pumps to suit your needs for a 8hp engine etc this will then give you an idea what your problem could be also try and see what psi your getting on the hp side with a cheap clock from flowfit but it does sound like hyd lockout ie one fighting the other but like i said 8 hp is fine with a matched pump/ram etc

  19. got mine from robs custom chain list too">> semi chisel that is" but not had chance to use it yet but when i do i think if its sucessful will order some spare loops as far as i,am aware full chisels for forestry use but it does seem to becoming more and more popular as i know ebay cheapest first comes first everytime so full chisel has become very common on the web i wonder if its cheaper to manufacture etc than the semi chisel ?
  20. i asked the same question what chain for arbwaste for my solorex dynasaw and was recomended semi chisel as full chisel dulls quicker on crapy wood ie arbwaste as its been all over the floor dirt grit and was told its hold its edge better and easy to rub up with a file
