  7. better off with palax ks35 ben.. bit more money but you get what you pay for..
  8. Can't take any more on at min. Struggling to do what I have already booked in. Have 700 acres spring drilling to do which has to come first
  9. To anyone on here (and there's at least 10) that's waiting for loads cord I apologise for the delay... Had very unproductive last few weeks to be honest.. And trailers in for test on wed so most next week written off also. All the timber has been cut for at least few months now so its not gonna be felled one day and delivered next green.. Should be back in action end next week so will be out every day till orders complete... Thanks for your patience...
  10. i can assure you there be plenty farmers still cutting hedges way past febuary as they not been able to get on fields to do any cuttin... we'll be one of them
  11. Think it must make a diff where its grown etc.. I have several loads birch/ alder and oak that was cut last feb and been stacked pretty high in a 500 ton heap.. The birch is less than 20%, the alder just over and oak still 35+... It's not very big diameter mind.. Most around 10inch... Mixin small amount oak in loads but pulling most of it aside and will split for end this yr.. Taken plenty out and had repeat orders..
  12. anything i have seasoned is coming back to our yard i'm afraid..
  13. i have firewood dealers coming into yard and paying £70 cubic metre for seasoned split wood to make £10 load just to keep there customers happy till end season.. whats point in gettin customers if your gonna loose them cos you've run out wood... they will go else where and you'l never hear from them again unless their new supplier runs out..
  14. 40 mins from hatfield if you cut cross country if you have no other alternatives... big shed with roller shutter and several tractors parked in front of it..
  15. Bit like pure oak. Weighs heavy so don't always get full load on for 25-26 ton.. Some don't like pure beech as its bit slow burning.. 95 % of woodlands around me in the chilterns are beech so its cheap.
  16. Pure beech is cheap here and hard to shift. £35 ton roadside
  17. i used to have a climber who i paid £150-200 a day... but he used to get hell lot done.. he was gettin bit old and didnt want regular work.. he was only climber i'd ever used since i started tree work and after putting the word around was amazed how many climbers there are around and some willing to work for £80 day... some willing to travel for nearly 2 hours to earn £150 a day... all i do no is some are very slow, and my pricing structure would have to change.. some are quick but wont help on ground. at all. and sit in truck once they've got tree down.. [they only did one day]. a good climber is worth as much as you can afford to pay him.. if they will just do odd day here and there then prob worth at least £50-80 day more than one who wants regular work.. the one who worked for me for £180 day would do in 3 days what another who wants £150 a day would take 5 days to do.. all i no is no matter how good they are theres always someone round corner just as good and prob cheaper...
  18. Very slow last few weeks thank god. Just picked my first load seasoned cord. Hoping that will last me out.. I really don't like having to pay for wood
  19. At £25 ton I'd be interested. You told me £30 ton hence I didn't get back to u. Sweet chestnut can be no more than £40 ton delivered in unfortunately.. Some even bring it in at £35.
  20. Where is wood located and what lengths is it cut to.. Going your way middle next week with load so could shift it then..
  21. 390 loads.. 1.5 cube per load. And 2 artic loads split cord. Another 100 cube
  22. Bear that in mind. Down your way lot with hay/ straw. Have good customer in broad oak just off A40, there again next week with load small bale hay.
  23. Drove to north Wales last week (Bangor) and found this working out the sate mine in the mountains... looked at many units recently but thus is true credit to former owner... Looking for full or part time driver if anyone no's someone who's looking for work????
  24. £1650 a load.. 25-26 ton
  25. I'm only few miles from you. Pm sent
