  1. Ive only ever bought one ticket, gave it to the kids and asked them to check if we had won. I got half an hour of peace and quiet, which I thought was good value for a quid.
  2. Do we have any idea which month this occurred in?

    Twins.

The only bit of helpful advice I can offer is, make sure you know how to get subtitles on the telly, because you wont be able to follow the movie if youve got two up all night teething. (My girls are 21 now so Im a bit smug, I did think we had finally made it through when all four could put their own shoes on, but it was a false dawn!!. Good luck, make as much time to enjoy as you can)
  4. You learn something new each day! Thanks Al
  5. from the list of messages click tap edit (top left) tap the red no entry by the message delete appears or if you mean mails, open the email tap the basket at the bottom hope this helps
  6. thanks for the reply, do post some pics when its finished
  7. Wot he said, they are in Ashford, Kent, sorted my life out a couple of times with no fuss
  8. do you mean woven osier panels like a wattle hurdle?
  9. I had to get some big scots pine out of a cemetery after '87, looked easy enough, but the keeper said as drove in with the tractor " watch out when the boxes go" so I had them slabbed and carried them out by hand as I was a bit spooked generally though, I like the green burial thing
  10. I think the church used to encourage people to have a bit of the cross to bring them good luck, apparently if you put all the relics back together the the thing would weigh several hundred tonnes which shows how awesome jesus was in carrying it, although someone had to help iirc (not intended to cause offence~)
  11. I think you would need a yard
  12. Ive just remembered another one, "Dont whistle at table, or you'll get a mad wife" Tried it this evening, its absolutely bang on.
  13. If you are using a cordless, then go for the hole cutter/tank cutter type of drill, keep it slow (80 feet per second) and cool with wd40, should go through with a coupe of good batteries. (What I meant to say was the cutter that looks like a hacksaw in a circle)
  14. 1 cubic metre of stacked roundwood when split into logs will occupy 0.8 cu m if stacked or 1.4 cu m in a heap
  15. Down here in kent, some estates sell off "cants". Although I havent seen it recently, there used to be auctions of Chestnut Underwood. From and owners point of view, considering the relatively small return, they would be wanting to sell to a reliable cutter. If I were looking for some wood to cut, I would pop my contact/qualifications/ and insurance details on a piece of paper and drop it around to any farm/estate in the area. youll soon get a call
  16. Does the label give a timing for glyphos these days? Some hazy memories of it not being recommended after August? Does not mean it wont work
  17. I have registered as a self supplier (because we are using a fair amount of our own wood), which I think lets me off the reporting bit, but I will need a producer registration if I want to chip all the arb arisings. I havent had the energy to tackle that online form filling nightmare yet. Does anyone else find the terminology a bit vague? Has the website improved since it was launched?
  18. It makes quite a difference, :001_smile:well thats what I tell the girls
  19. Another thing you can do with conkers, if you get a bigish but flattish conker and you can wrinkle your eye round round it and hold it like a monocle , the get another for the other eye.... ...you wont see any spiders
  20. I dont believe it, 44, (looks barely out of nappies,) and hes on our thread, what is the world coming to
  21. It comes in lengths that they were cutting that day, and if you can spirit away the waste from a mill it probably wont cost much, if they have to store/move/handle it then they will want something for it. I used to get quite a bit, and reckoned it was worth £10 / tonne because it dries so well. If you can saw at home and are not worried about having regular shaped logs then your on a winner.
  22. thats resin bolt to some, you can get glass tubes of resin, pop them in followed by stud, wait 10 mins and tighten, or get the tube of two part resin which mixes in the spout and wind in a bit of studding
  23. If you have a timber running along the wall, then put DPC under the timber and hammerfix screws right through. (Screws with a plastic plug that grips if you drill right through the wood and then into the masonry, similar ones are used on door frames) If it just the posts sitting on the wall, then install M20 stud to locate the post in the correct position, drill up the post 25mm, dpc or a bit of lead will help the wood last longer.
  24. I think it counts, is it a Jones and Shipman?
  25. Most likely cause of ill health would be years of finely pulverized horse s88t, I have spent several days pecking up concrete floors in much more confined spaces and I seem to have survived, whereas an hour in a riding school leaves me with a headache
