  1. I cant do the full contract as dont have the manpower however if any local guys take it on and need an experienced planter to sub then dont hesitate to contact, planted new woodlands and other large planting contracts.
  2. seasoned cubic metre load for £45 to customer is dirt cheap, wholesale bit pricey
  3. good luck with cumbria county council loL.I imagine the bridge would have had a weight limit ted?
  4. un vented bags make it sweat they are useless, also wood indoors bad idea unless open on all sides and just a slanted roof, instead of heaping it try stacking it outdoors and wrapping top with tarp much better way.seasoning indoors takes way too long.
  5. They are spot on really low gearing, and ive even towed few tractors out of sticky spots with mine,id only run a series vehicle for woodland work the new ones just dont take the beatings the same in my opinion. Cheap to run piece of whizz to fix and parts are more than easily sourceable and cheap. No tax cheap insurance what more do you want.
  6. cant be any gayer than those skin tight stihl x fits?
  7. how you getting on with the bench fabrication big fell? May be better making a simple power rack with adjustable pins on it to press from inside the cage, then you can do many exercises using a power cage, squats shoulder press benching, rowing, rack deadlifts at varying heights etc,be cheaper and simpler to make id imagine aswell.
  8. firewood is very quiet this year, personally id say stick with higher prices,it avoids the time wasters ringing, also some folk dont like to see a cheap price as they begin to assume its a dodgy outfit flogging it on the side. Its the cumbrian cash curse buddy everyone's poor as can be and tight as crabs tush round these parts lol.
  9. could have carried that lil stuff out by hand lol.nice snapshots chaps
  10. very poor service and still owe me a refund.promised them id collect my money in person someday.i wouldn't recommend them to anybody whatsoever, customer service is ridiculous one lie after another. Not good at all.

  12. Fruit has it's place but generally speaking is a poor choice for lasting energy due to fructose(or fruit sugars) being simple carbs, good for spiking insulin but nothing more. Also to correct a piece of incorrect advice 1 gram of protein to bodyweight will not provide any effect for bulking up that is a daily maintenance levelthat everyone should be adhering to,1.5-to 2 grams along with an increase in dietary fats will increase muscle size along with correct resistance exercise. Also carbs are over rated,no such thing as an essential carb. For health eat like a caveman.Plenty fibrous veg,and quality cuts of fatty and White meat, and eggs and milk. That's all we were designed to eat and our bodies digestivly speaking have not changed since, however our eating habits have. Modern grains and carbs are to blame for obesity and diabetes and digestive issuses most folk suffer in modern day times.
  13. damn straight it does, crikey i split and stacked some in my vented crates 2 years ago and its just about use able.God bless any firewood merchants flogging mainly oak got a long time to wait to see a return on that stock lol
  14. Get that puff pad off that squat bar for heavens sake haha they encourage undergrown traps and rear delts build some meaty traps and rear delts as a shelf for the bar and you won't need the pad anymore hey presto problem solved,if find bar digs into neck work on flexibility as the bar should sit midway on upper back on traps and Rear delts high bar squats are bad on knees as you cannot sit your ass back far enough to use hips and hammies And encourages knee over toe syndrome As far as tips on bench press build pay very very close attention to the supports which you unrack the barbell from you want a L shape with a very small lip on bottom of the L to stop bar rolling off. Most companies make that part too high and instead of unracking using your lats like a pullover motion you have to unsettle your shoulder girdle and roll your shoulders forward, this is how many shoulder complaints begin. Not bad on four plates are those 55lb plates? End of year hopefully I will hit 200kg for a double whilst waiting for your bench to be fnished hitthose floor presses, they will bump your bench up for sure I swear by them.
  15. I hope it does as to be blunt I'm sick of all these have a go larrys coming along and tying up loads of wood as findin good cord is getting harder and harder. To be honest everyone from local scrap merchant to burger vendor is selling firewood and I've about blown my lid with it I live off firewood and logging as has my family three generations prior to me and don't mind sensible competiion but when eeryone and there aunt thinks it's easy dollar and comes in to the game it takes the michael a bit as everyone ends up making less sales, and it just rips the back end out the whole reason I do this. Rant over now where's my camomile tea before I pop a gasket lol

  17. I wouldn't risk my reputation by supplyin wet wood...if customer has a chimney fire and house burns down where would that leave you? As I'm damn sure the customer would slate you and your wood down to the ground.May sound far fetched but always best to air on side of caution
  18. Too true on the body builder statement. All show un no go.You want a grafter go for a strongman. Its all about GPP general physical prepardness.Strength cardio.Altho alot of it is mindset.Without hard physical graft everyday I'd feel lost,Its like today a climber I was subcontracting for,I took the challenge upon myself to make sure there was only one limb or bit of brash on the floor at all times whilst he was cutting, why walk back from chipper or walk with the brash, why not sprint Each way? That's how I work everyday when I can fit thru the spaces with the brash.Boom backand forth from drop zone to chipper with as much brash as I can handle and as fast as my legs will take me.It's just how I enjoy to work, hard and fast most young uns nowadays can only just find it in themselves to drag there butts out of bed
  19. eat like a caveman, work like one and your sorted.14 years since picked up a weight and started martial arts at very young age,and nobody can outwork me that i know of. Last week in one 8 hour day laid 250 feet of drainage pipe and dug and barrowed over 20 ton of clay and dirt and layed in the pebble and hardcore of same amount, without being as fit as a fiddle there is no way i could do that my young lacky was dying after first hour haha.A healthy strong fit and flexible body is a business asset, time off sick means no pennies so look after your most valuable bit of equipment.
  20. Tis a lovely old beast your series,Tom was showing me some pics of it on favebook then I seen you post in the arbtrucks section and it twigged (no pun intended haha)

Domestic tree work isn't so bad if subbing for the right firm,But I have grown tired of leylandi and running round with the garden rake, when we get a nice big takedown it's a rare treat,But as more tree work becomes scarce the more domestic companies seem to encroach on gardening and landscaping territory, and I'm much happier with a saw knocking down stands of timber than mowing strimming weeding or hedge cutting.

  21. Yo rich you must be toms mate with the series?

Works poor up here always has been probably always will, closed shop and fiercly competitive.I'm stuck Doig groundie work on domestic side and you know hat I hate it to be frank haha.

I've wanted to get into forest side for two years but can't get the break I need nor want.Firewood is busy as always and it's about all that's keeping me goig

    times are grim.

I'm donw in barrow in furness the armpit of the northwest of Cumbria lol

  22. Folk like that really boil my beans, lil armchair experts running there mouth trying to make knowledgeable hard working guys look like idiots..and for them to not apologize? downright spineless,a person who cannot admit there in the wrong aint too much of a person
  23. weights measures act 1985 good buddy at trading standards has informed me any firewood sold not as volume ie cubic metre then is technically breaking that act.So no trailer loads,no builders bags sold as a cubic metre when they are not,no un specified "pick-up bed full" loads and no "ton" bag fulls if they are not a ton. Alot of customers have been moaning to trading standards apparently which has led to them having a big crack down on rouge firewood merchants. It was encouraging to find out trading standards are taking the wood fuel industry more serious nowadays as it means less numpty's selling firewood and only reputable knowledgeable merchants are left doing the trade which we love and have worked hard for, which is way it always should be. So don't stress dude the crap will be sieved out over next few years, you just keep on keeping on brotha !
  24. well according to customers if its wet or slightly damp for any reason its apparently not seasoned, would you believe that one lol Had a belter last year, few of top logs had frozen due to hard winter frost and lil bit of morning dew getting gathered by tarp over top, they obviously thawed...customer refused whole load and wanted refund when i came back to inspect what was wrong there was 12 slightly damp bits of wood his stove retailer told him to ask for refund as the product wasn't kiln dried wood and thats all that should be burnt. Had a caller last night moan and say my wood was too dry it burnt faster than they had hoped for ( it was 18 percent) so god knows how fast softwood at 12-5 percent would burn.....where do these people come from?,We can do our part to educate best we can but when one moans its too dry and another moans its too wet,ive just give up being so darn fussy as ive learnt to please everyone is impossible.
  25. Getting alot of slack at back end of week usually friday,Saturday and Sundays if anybody requires an extra pair of hands dragging brash or any other ground based work then don't hesitate to get in touch,I don't like time off and hate having empty days when I need to be busting my hump Any work considered if require anymore details of my abilities thn just ask many thanks Ben aka Yeti
