  1. It's all I burn at home as did two generations before me burnt pretty much good thick slab wood last year...no chimney fires no gunk in chimney and nothing but toasty fires gave up trying to "educate" customers onto softwood was raising my blood pressure too much. We don't have enough hardwood in U.K to keep burning the stuff at this rate
  2. Our yard is in a reet state also, bleeding big wood chip bark and sawdust filled mess.Ill get reet Proper swamp paddling feet at this rate haha. The big order certainly stopped me ripping my hair out at least prioer to christmas it is ongoing to summer aswell. Thank heavens for sticking it out
  3. far to low a prices, Rotten softwood wont sell more than once tho it burns like sack of pap if its windblown dont waste time cutting up anything that's been down three years its ending its life at that point especially if sat on deck
  4. haix fit my g't feet, soles are hit and miss but waterproofing is the dogs danglies.
  5. As promised few pics of new cheapo work hack.Diesel pump been tweaked going to up boost to 14 psi shortly and fab up a new bigger pipe, whip bodylift and some half way decent tyres on her.
  6. Domestic orders still bit quiet however just landed a 6000 net wholesale order on top of my other year round wholesale supply I'd give anything to not see another single log net haha
  7. Aye got it in one was my employers fault either way with any rear shunt. taxi driver set off at lights no indication banked it to the left at last minute Navarra locked up in wet slid and tapped him at less than 15 mph navarra fell apart in a heap of plastic and front end bits taxi had silver scratch on bumper lol. Ill chuck some pics up in next few days when get on pc.It's roomy enough with seats out plus has locking rear diff.Either way it works stops and starts just drinks diesel sadly
  8. Navarra dead pretty much wee front end shunt into an asshat taxi drier Found cheap lwb shogun 2.8 for 340 quid new front tyre found in scrappy for free, cv boot and bit of home exhaust fabrication and it's now MOT'd.owes me less than 500 squidberrys should do for now
  9. Aye most defo a touch ruthless,I was irrate for all of ten mins then realized ah well guess I'm taking enough sales to worry others Into underhanded shenanigans (she's a trainee hairdresser) as mentioned everyone and there do is off trying to sell logs up here lol same with tree jobs lately aswell put sensible price on job guarantee a gardener or handyman will be out week after waving his electric saw and bowesaw around for 30 quid lol. If it carries on another month I'll be folding for my own sanity lol
  10. It's died a death up here this year at present only wholesale orders keeping me ticking over. Not a place wanted to be in month away from Christmas Everyone and there dog is doing logs now tho,Even had some rival selling plastic sacks of logs ringing my customers telling them she can undercut me! It's all got bit underhanded and I'd be happier in a other trade I think. Hope everyone else is still kicking butt and taking names
  11. All are golden when seasoned well, however larch is my go to choice as it burns alot longer than most softwoods.Cedar is very quick burning but hot hot hot! Pine also burns rather warm aswell.
  12. Absolute nothing wrong with softwood,i shift an absolute heap of the stuff.Good 80 percent customer base always asks for repeats on softwood. Give me larch or give me death ! Supply dry, price sensible folk will be happy enough.
  13. Available for ad hoc ground based wor,if i can be of any assistance within cumbria or south lakes please do not hesitate to contact.Hard working reliable, come with own saws and all PPE.

    Sick of Stihl

stop buying new stihls, buy old ones and they will never let you down.Tough as old boots,oh and don't buy unless German made...never ends well.
  15. this year has been nightmare with rain and sourcing timber is getting more and more difficult.I've just bought a massive supply off a Gypo sellig it at 30quid a bulk bag for hardwood cut and split if wasn't for that this year I'd have no hardwood. I stopped using my powered splitter and returned back to hand splitting to try keep overheads down. The farmers with all the diversification grants are snapping up volumes of timber locally and forcing the firewood merchants out, just can't compete on there scale makes my blood boil, who is bailing us forest and tree lads out eah? No bugger. I'll keep going for as long as I can as still making okey profit but it's beaten spirit out me this year, every other week said I'm gonna fold.

£1750 it's up for in appleby it bloody lovely old boy put bit work in restoring it tyres are all new and never used be lucky to get a lil dexta with a loader like rockin horse ****,ones that do find are awful state as small tractors with loaders are always used in the muck pit, plus puts front end under too much stress.

Wish I'd known mate I just turned down an intertaional with loader for £400 but it went day after I veiwed it.

Best bet mate would be a David brown cheap as chips and loads going with loaders.

    Fordson Dextra

Great little tractors hydraulics are bit underpowered bit good pto pump sorts that out 3cylinder Perkins designed lump are great.Bloody economical. I know a really immaculate one fr sale 4 new tyres
  19. only legally beats it in capacity, problem is land rover never built anything with any pulling power even the td5 in standard fettle needs its nipples ringing to make it move with any weight on back. The d22 has had some seriously frightening weights on in wet mud never got stuck, talking 4 ton cod on trailer minimum....Don't get me started on the new navarra tho absolute poor excuse of 4x4 off road. still rather use the series 2a any day if it didnt cripple me in fuel bills. i love and hate land rovers in equal amounts ha ha.

them boys are worth staying clear of,sent me not cut proof stretch airs when rang to inform them of the blunder they wouldn't send the pair i ordered or refund me,oh yeah and they charged for the cut protective stretch airs...they will come unstuck one day treating folk that way.
  21. ^So I can embarrass boy racers at the lights haha.Saying that the d22 will wipe the floor with a landy in regards to towing grunt. The newer navs are hideous offroad.A transit would be better off road haha
  22. another update, getting close now to being complete.
  23. took an order for 3000 nets this week, just as my shoulder decides to tear and separate! been rammed with firewood all year.Finding enough wood to keep going is becoming my biggest issue.Seems every hobby farmer, landscaper, builder tom dick or harry wants to think there playing Mr woodchuck by buying up every damn truck load of wood going.Beginning to get on my nerves to be honest. But hey ho onward we go
  24. Pro protectors are hit and miss lately I had a pair that sole separated in six month.Comfy from box waterproofing great but soles were bald and hanging off in under a year.My advice would be go for kilma air Tirol fighters or whatever name they are. With good bit beeswax on they have never faile me in heavy downpours yet,and are as tough as tanks.Much lighter and more breathable than haix plenty support, lacing system pulls tighter and the soles are still brand new looking, they refuse to wear down!
