I meant that his spec to remove all regrowth was sound, and that he would not be swayed by daft ideas of felling and replanting perfectly good poplars to pander to misguided ideas of what's "right" So, in case you were wondering, to me that was perfectly good tree management. Well played tree officer, well played indeed.,

Au contraire Tony, I love American comedy! So much better than the hopeless sitcoms that the BBC give us. Compare and contrast The Big Bang Theory, Seinfeld, Frasier and Everybody Loves Raymond with Miranda et al. Apart from Gavin and Stacey and Alan Partridge (possibly The Office even though the yank version was better) all the recent Brit stuff in awful.

I think the point is he's not getting the work and he wants to know why. Where's the harm in phoning to ask if they had received the quote and what do they think?

Phone 'em, ask 'em! you've gone to the effort of going out there, no harm in asking. Then you'll know more about why you're not getting the work.
