  1. John, some evenings on here you can almost feel the sharks circling waiting for the evenings roustabout, usual suspects and I am amongst them. Sniping at each other, calculated insults and oneupmanship, guess what? It's brilliant! As others have said I don't care about my nan reading it and I very much doubt she'd be bothered to look on a trade forum or give a monkey's about what I wrote. The PPE thread was silly, fair enough (not involved, too stupid even for me) Ps I find your use of the word "disappointed" a bit well, disappointing:001_smile:
  2. When I read some of the comments I cannot believe it, "Have the aerial rescuer in his harness whilst the climber performs a dangerous procedure" or " have another climber in the tree" most of the time I work/have worked with just a brash monkey no chance of rescue, so do many people I suspect. Nothing macho just economics.
  3. It's probably worth trying to sell it on here under the old chestnut of "what's it worth?"
  4. C'mon Geoff let's see 'em again.
  5. Careful Geoff, you don't want to be posting topless selfies again!!!!
  6. Macon village.
  7. Yes, you've scratched your skin a bit.
  8. Just buy some marine ply a saw and get busy.
  9. Have Just reread it.....see what you mean:001_smile: "Come out from behind his wife" "get it on in the garden" Steamy stuff!
  10. Seriously:confused1: you wanted to fight a member of the public in his own garden.
  11. No for sure, sometimes there's a back story though, we tend to take the side of the client ie the person that called us, maybe this tree had been a bone of contention for years between the two and your client had ignored the fact that a tree like this was unsuitable for this place and that allowing it to grow was pretty unneighbourly also. Sure it's crap but does manboobs know the difference between a beech and a lime? Which actually would come back a treat.
  12. And is (was)the tree to the south of it?
  13. I'm not saying it does, like I said its muppetry, is the Neighbours garden behind that red fence?
  14. Too shady, you know robbing the Neighbours garden of light.
  15. Two sides to every story, looks close to the fence, sure it's muppetry but maybe the Neighbours garden was too dark.
  16. Cheers I'll have a play and learn that.
  17. I would rate myself as a poor operator! I bought the machine and just learnt by trial and error, breezeblock. Do you mean lift the front of the machine with the bucket then swing the unit round on the heels as it were? Please elaborate as I'm keen to avoid expensive mistakes! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. Actually I'm open to expert advice :001_smile:what do you mean clean the undercarriage?
  19. It may be worn seals on the track adjusters, same happened on mine, I had them replaced and it's much better now, in the woods over hidden stumps and the like you've still gotta look out, pump them up regularly.
  20. Dead right.
  21. About thirty years too late!
  22. I guess it must be permeable otherwise they'd die! Still, the amount of water that reaches the roots must be minuscule compared to a tree in normal surroundings.
  23. I agree all that moolah for a wheelbarrow load of chip in the back. Crazy:confused1:
  24. South West France, north of Bordeaux.
