  1. He hasnt been on here since 2012 according to his profile.
  2. Best bet if you still may use it on kubota is to get a half a pto shaft to go on tractor end but longer. Then you can swop between the tractors. Also this will give you the choice of getting a shaft to go inside or outside of the one on the splitter.
  3. Been there and lost out through the fault of others:thumbdown: Some assessors are evil hard skinned creatures. Probably motivated by the usual ££££££s
  4. If its crashed and thoroughly investigated only. A missing bulb would be a giveway, whereas a dead one, who would know that anyone knew? I think I preferred it when we drove with skill and brute force, Im sure modern motors have much heavier steering(without the power assisted working, or due to it ) My first motors didnt have it. I dont remember struggling. Also never owned an abs braked vehicle yet. Good old cadence braking still for me.
  5. Not pricing its because someone daft or desperate and its not me Jim:thumbup1:
  6. I had a hycrack. It is just a smooth round shaft with two roll pins in If I remember correctly, one inside the other. They are designed like this to shear like you say. No key wedges are used. Cannot tell you what they are called though.

    Arbbay!?

I must of been lucky, I got a 357xpg, 346xp and 346xpg off ebay and all have been good. I did wait patiently for the right ones and paid a fair price.
  8. Plenty round here. Yesterday I was restocking a hedge and 3 ran out across open pasture. A really bad shot would of struggled to miss. At least 20 seconds each.
  9. Unfortunately green is the biggest smokescreen going now. if you put bio,eco or green in the product name everyone will love it.
  10. Seen rabbits scramble chicken net and one even cleared 2ft of net grand national style.
  11. Dog muck, fly tipped waste, syringe needles on some sites, blackthorn in particular as it can destroy an eye or digit if its thorns penetrate. These maybe excessive but shows you have thought specific to the site..
  12. Black diesel as its called is a refined like biodiesel product that is used to power ocean going vessels, which are not regulated in pollution due to working "international waters" My info may be out of date now. I would like to make a smelter or forge that run on primarily waste oil. I think environmental issues are going to be you problem if you go commercial with this. All resources in my opinion should be used and reused until they are gone, made into energy. Including plastic as its oil derived. Its getting nice stuff to come out the exhaust.
  13. I looked in to it. Max you can store per tank without bunding and more regs is 1000ltrs. As said not a great price difference because you need to buy the hardware to store and dispense it. Modern diesel does not have a recommended shelf life of much over a year. You can lose it through a leak or stealing. It can become contaminated in storage which needs additive to treat it. When you store it your liable, when you buy it from pump you have more comeback. I have worked for haulier sthat buy 10,000ltrs a week for 2 per ltr less than forecourt price. (depends on current market) The way to get it cheaper is group buying in a locality. Then it all gets delivered in a small area saving the supplier haulage costs. I would only bother with red diesel personally.
  14. Hmmh if the research in to reducing emissions had actually been directed more fully at fuel economy and burning less to do more mileage or given result we could of got better results all round. Instead we burn the same or more to achieve the same as years ago . Green and greed only the last letter is different!
  15. Another here.

    Red Top.

Ive posted several times about how good these batteries are I have a 56AH red top on a case 4230 tractor for 14 plus years. Yes its the same battery. Its never failed to start it even when temperatures are below freezing and tractor has been stood for 6+ weeks. Had a fuel problem with the tractor that is the only time its failed to start it. Before then I was using 90Ah big heavy batteries that are normally used on these tractors, I was replacing every 2 years. In 1999 when I bought it it was expensive at £139. But I would of bought 7 of the normal type in that time at £? I now use a little yellow top 38AH on my ford escort 1.8td van. It too is supposed to be 80Ah or so I think. Buy fit and almost forget these batteries unless corrosion on the terminals or charging system fails. Im not an agent or seller either. Now I only replace with optima if one will fit.
  17. From what someone once told me. If you pull a trailer during a week use tacho all that week. If its just a work only vehicle its probably easier to use all the time. But if you pop to shop at the weekend and nights you need a way out. The chap on this thread checks it now and again and sorts such questions out.http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/arb-trucks/41316-trailer-towing-b-b-e-licence-rules-explained.html Should be a leisure mode you can select on them really. But it would be abused of course. Which the jobsworths would have less fun and income.
  18. Easy enough to diy fix. Watch videos on you tube etc. Its only similar to a cycle or wheelbarrow repair. Unlike high speed road going vehicles if you dont get it right its not a big issue. Some swear by the slime, I hate it. You get random deflation and always need to top tyre pressure up in my experience. Then it is a pig to clean up to do a proper repair later. Assuming its a tube, a motorbike patch will probably do the job.
  19. The french do as they like when they like remember:001_smile:
  20. My parents have had there Hunter herald plumbed in three times by Hetas approved fitters etc other the past 14 months and it still doesnt work!! Isn't plumbed in at present. 1st plumber was out his depth. I went to look at it after fitting, it was September time before it was needed it and told my parents it was rubbish. It was pumped in reverse and a huge radiator in the loft to dump surplus heat!!!!!!!! It actually made tank colder and blew the safety valve as soon as fire was warm. In their frustration they got a air source heat pump fitted in June by a big "Green" company. The plumber just left site on the Friday and said "I didn't plumb the woodstove in it can't be done" They supplied a twin coil tank instead of a triple, so the heat pump and solar are back in but now the company are saying they will do it at my parents cost. They have already taken probably £15,000 or so! It continues. I am Jack of all trades master of none, because at least you know whats been done if you do it. I only didn't install wood stove at parents because I thought when a Hetas boy came to sign it off. He would just condemn it to give himself work. So do it properly Dan and do as much as you are comfortable with yourself. More paperwork and jobs for the boys and lets get job done and down to pub it seems.
  21. Bit like nationalism with flags, helps allegiance and brand loyalty. I suppose. Whereas valtra are scandanavian and they think unconventionally. Which is to their advantage. Low reving engines in this case and forestry design in mind from the outset. More of an innovator than a copier brand.
  22. Ive never had to fix one yet but. Screwfix and the like do telephone line tools and fittings. Surely you can fix up if needed. May be better to take photos before you start the job to get colours worked out first. £200 is a rip off. Jenga chimney stacks. A whole new arb game!
  23. Just looked at this before coming to arbtalk. Why do people these days have to make such radical chauvanistic statements? Its like school proms, a waste of parents money to prop up inflated competitive egos. In todays risk assessment mad world. Im suprised the idea even got off the ground:001_rolleyes: It did come down with a bit of a bump. 1. Is it neccassary. NO 2. Is There a safer alternative YES etc
  24. I can verify the metal baskets are weak steel and soon rust away, working on a nursery, they dont last long enough for handling purposes. However I think its a good idea to cut the top part off once its in the hole and part filled as the top part tends to get more twists and double thickness areas when binding them. Also the top tends to stay drier and rot slower. As for being hacked back the rootball lifting machinery is a glorified Ice cream scoop that vibrates through the soil, cutting a spherical ball whatever is in the way. Some rootballs collapse when lifting and are basically a bareroot tree wrapped in fine soil, The irony is most trees are grow on fine soil which is better for growing whereas heavier soils stay ballshaped better. I expressed my opinion as did others about rootballs in a thread on here a while back. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/landscaping/55620-rootballs-versus-bareroot-your-opinions.html
  25. Everybody seems to shut down for christmas leave it while next year mode, but apart from that its continuous. It down to you to check daily. But as suggested if you chase up things it should materialise quicker.
