  1. I can pull a huge fat bird with just my looks:blushing:
  2. Just a design thought I've had. If the bottom of the burner is bottomless and has a mesh floor and you are chucking in lightish stuff, hedgetrimmings etc. Is it worth putting angle iron bracers every ft or so across the width of the skip to air the material and stop it suffocating the fire at the bottom. Will also strengthen the skip when heated and loaded. If it doesn't make sense ask me to explain what you don't understand. E.A is becoming a self appointed divinity and distancing itself from reality.
  3. Just got an email from toolstation. The write up is either translated from foreign to english or the author is not familiar with chainsaws. Note terminology! I have no knowledge of this saw or experience with it, but its cheap! Toolstation: Einhell BG-PC 1235 Petrol Chainsaw 37cc
  4. I have both and I think there is indentations on the xp where it needs to be. Have a look at parts diagram at diyspares or greenstripe etc
  5. Would like to see this:thumbup:
  6. Depends. Sometimes start a job and they will panic shift em for you. Other times they are hoping for compo. If it was a neighbours greenhouse you would take appropriate care as it won't shift that easy but it will break. You don't want the job to be harder than neccasary yet you don't want to waste time hanging around. Each situation as you judge best. Can you get there early and park first?
  7. Have you had a look at equipment specs such as hedgecutters, mini diggers. Tank size and flow. They will have it worked to a safe margin running all day. It surprises me how small nursery hydraulic equipment tanks are.
  8. And sweepings in customers brown bin
  9. Also Ive heard some trees draw up silica or certain elements. I think it could be just some conifers. Something at the back of my mind.
  10. You shouldn't need to water them. Searching for water helps develop strong root system, also vice versa. Cherries are of the prunus family and can get disease(silver leaf and canker I think ) if pruned in winter especially if its hard pruning and hard weather. Cherries are much better than plum and other orchard fruits for this though. Cherries are vigorous rooters, but yours may be on dwarf rootstocks. Which possibly means they will need support. All these points are off the top of my head. So google to verify.
  11. I have a conference pear and its progeny concorde in my garden. Only young trees. The conference had scabby pears, 6ft away the concorde were fine:confused1: Don't forget to check out pollination partners or you may have no pears!

    Bio chain oil

Just a thought about additives in chain oils. It could be like food. Additives stabilise and alter other properties in the things they are added to. If a homeowner who only strikes his saw up once a year had a gummed up saw he would complain to oil manufacturer. Rather than have bad press they put what is needed in to avoid this. Second thought I have only experimented/used rapeseed in 13 and 15 inch sugi hara bars. My view was if the bars and chain wear out a bit quicker it's still no loss as I'm saving almost half price on oil per 20ltr drum £22ish as opposed to £45. I did enquire on a milling thread a while back if millers had success on bigger bars with rapeseed as I haven't risked it yet.
  13. Ah! Thanks, I've googled various words and only found green tyre. That's worth a look. Wheelbarrow wheels have high magnetic properties toward thorns.
  14. Where do you get them? Thanks:001_smile:
  15. What is the verdict on the puncture/flat free tyres out there. Are greentyres the best option?
  16. I recall the leaves of cherries (avium) in suffcient quantities does have a toxic effect. Its to do with the sap I think. Its a vague memory from reading a goat keeping book decades ago. My goats never had a problem with eating cherry leaves but they didnt get a truckload.

    Bio chain oil

Ive used it for 5+ years not had any bother. The last few months been running on makro's rapeseed oil with no issues. Have you tried using diesel to soak and clean. Its not approved to use as such, so wear gloves etc as needed. Or spray it on and leave it for a bit then try removing gunk.
  18. Jiggins is colour blind. He will claim they picked on him because of his handicap and the human rights will throw it out.
  19. This is twice she has outclassed you in a week. How do you feel this time? Same answer expected.
  20. Appropriate certificates exemption papers to handle such "Waste" Costs money, then the potential fines. Unfortunately its probably best to post a need to tip such then respond by pm. It is a good idea but not in a bureaucratic world lacking common sense. Some E A personnel have quite a reputation for being sticklers, uni not real world.
  21. It will graft and fuse solid over time, it may suffer rot pockets if water gets trapped longer term. It will be a passing fad. Have a play, can look nice in mature specimens or look ghastly.
  22. Also if you cut across the grain or with the grain chip length is significantly different
  23. Me if I can help it. Pasta generally makes my feel full instantly then I bloat, then fart all night long:biggrin:. But I do have Marmite occassionally. cold pasta is not something I'd pick. Garlic bread is 4 times better warm or even hot.
  24. My view on this has been undecided for quite some time. Im not full time arb. I do fencing and other work. Some work I just need to get myself there. 2 wheels could do this. I have driven escort vans since I passed my test 20+ years ago. It has always been enough to get tools and things in securely and discreetly out of sight. (a weak point of most 4x4s open back trays and fibreglass flex tops etc) On big jobs I just brought out the tractor and trailer. Now not a confident option due to legal adjustments. A tipper would be a HUGE time and back saver. 4wd would only get used occasionally as in most cases! Towing behind my van is insuffcient. I may only use the trailer 40 days a year. However only 4wd vehicles have reasonable towing capability. With the downside of greater running expenses especially when only using it as a car on quotes etc. But if you get fined a couple of thousand and lose the time dealing with it and increased insurance costs blah blah you will wish the money had been invested in a 4x4. When this van (no 4) dies I will probably get a 2 seater 4x4 tipper. But where will I keep the tools. A numb empty vault on the back will be a pain.
  25. Stayed in a house in Dunedin in New Zealand and they had fan and duct above fire that pushed air down in other rooms from ceiling. They were happy with it. Helps with damp as well I believe
