  1. This is not cherry, it is called thundercloud cherry plum, see picture
  2. Thank you all, we found the soil around our area, the top is good, but one foot below there are a lot of hard clay soil. And small rocks. Under one of the died trees, we dig out a huge concrete rock apparently left over by the people who doing the construction 10 year ago, they just beried some of their building material under ground. We just bought the house. The 3rd tree left looks ok, but it tilted a little bit towards west. I am concerned, and we do put some stakes to support it, we have lot of rain here in fall, winter and spring. But dry in summer, maybe because we did not water them in summer?
  3. We have two thundercloud cherry plum trees blown over by wind rain storm at different day in the past a couple of weeks. We still have one tree left, not blown down yet. What do I need to do to prevent it being blow over like the other two tees? How can I strengthen it to be strong? Thanks
  4. We live in Seattle area. Recently a lot of rain and wind. We had a thundercloud cherry tree blown by the wind and tilted down.Root comes out. We guess the tree may be less than 10 years old. We just bought and moved to this house. And we found out the soil under the root has a concrete rock under it. The tree looked good and healthy before it fell, but apparently the root did not go deep because of the rock under it. My question if we move the rock and replant the tree, can the tree still survive, if so, how much percent of chance it can survive? The tree is about 16 feet tall. And the caliper is about 6". We have to hire some people to pull the tree up and replant. Just would like to know if it is worth to do this. Or it will simply die soon. Thanks
