  1. Or Trailer repair companies. I get mine from a sheet and curtain repairer/maker. As said Beer money.
  2. If it still stands. Its illegal to shoot racing pigeons.
  3. We used to do it up to 15 years ago when we lived with parents. Towards the end we left it all to my dad. Addictive obsessive sport if you let it get you. Expensive and time consuming to do it properly. But like premier league, the fanciers with the money often but their way to success. Fascinating to observe and be part off. 4. In the colder winter days, doing lighter work such as treeplanting I use them if the weather is wet. I agree with the sweat or wet comments, The gain is being able to work on a write off day. Also the more layers the better underneath to spread the moisture. They are more suited to stand around safety/supervisor roles. You do get less wet wearing them.
  5. Big J being unconventional is progressive in my book. Rover the hard core comment. I was thinking if Jon goes to yards rough laid with bigger lumps half brick size not flattened well. I thought the trailer may brake on the dolly wheels like a chock and cause unwanted steering movements. Only based on my experience which hgv size it makes no difference but at the other extreme compact tractor light trailers it plots a whole new direction! Hope that's clearer. Just thinking out any potential problems beforehand. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  6. To answer the simple straight long reversing question. It should be good on good flat hard standing, but it will jiggle about on hard core or bumpy areas. Especially when empty. I think it would be good if you do purchase and be our guinea pig. Also hopefully someone else will want another trailer piggy backing in to the country. Or the manufacturer will send one back with you. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  7. I've mention in another thread a while back. If local skip companies offered a suited service for tree work companies it would be mutually beneficial. Gives them work and saves arb doing all the paper chase that comes with transport. Your regular domestic waste collection truck would probably compact it too much to tip. I've seen these trucks trying to shake there contents. Not stable as the rear end has to go up increasing centre of gravity. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  8. That's much clearer. I had not read your post in the other thread. Hence why it didn't make sense. Well done on pulling the the stuff you have. Also on being open, it will help others sort things out. Manual working men try and shrug everything off. But it doesn't always work for the best. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  9. I would seriously evaluate the bogie design for your requirements Big J, after all doubt the new skill needed is going to hold you back. Design is so much more manuvreable and less stress on towing vehicle. I remember readind an article in a classic tractor magazine about someone who this was the only tralier that ticked all boxes with nose weight axle weights for going to tractor rallies with.
  10. Surely he didn't speak like this before he left? I understand cider speak from somerset better than this, :laugh1:I only live 45 miles from York but never read or heard this form before.
  11. Would seem he's been to an island with a pidgeon english form of dialect:confused1:
  12. I knew a man ( since passed away) that blacked out randomly. Yet the doctors never took licence off him. Best one though was an old chap that caused a small accident. Police took licence off him there and then. He got down not driving, so wrote to DVLA saying he'd lost his licence could they send a replacement. They did! He carried in driving. 13. Would struggle to get much above £8 an hour I reckon. The attitude in the industry towards pay and availability of cheaper almost robotic foreign workers sets a low benchmark across the horticulture industry. Plus the way schools have used it to occupy the students that struggle in other lessons, does not give it much credibility. Anyone can do the garden because most homeowners have an under achieving one, so a genuine plants person not esteemed much. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  14. As stated in many posts elsewhere, 346xp is a pleasure to use for long sessions. I bought a second one whilst I could. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. Microwave trick is Weight piece of wood measure volume by immersing in a vessel of water Microwave it Weight again Calculate wood moisture loss by loss of weight. If volume is measured by water displacement in measuring jug it's very accurate. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  16. I was profoundly deaf from 4 years of age, who do I blame? My mother for playing 60s music.
  17. Ambulance chasing owt for nowters :thumbdown:What a pain, contributing to a pitiful society Did the government force us to use saws and mans toys. No we just wanted to get on and do PRODUCTIVE work unlike the education system created layabouts, If I had to go into school/ etc, to do an industry related lecture. I would despair. A truck driver who was 70 odd I was chatting to said at his cpc training course to the instructor "Where are the young ones that the industry needs to come in to it?" Instructor replied "There is lots of them look in this room" They went through everybodies age , 4 or them were over retirement age. The 4 the instructor thought was young was 39,40 and 2 42s. Everyone else was inbetween. Everyone wants money for nowt and hate work. Our ancestors would disown us that do have ago at working without moaning, never mind the rest.
  18. As said nice and simple. Would not believe its the same chap as the forum, looks professional and no mention of BISH BASH BOSH! Or playing on your lawn with big toys. Down to business Steve, how much and how are you going to reward Arbtalkers per visit to help your web ratings.
  19. You could very well be right.hope you get sorted at a reasonable price. I've been there with a transmission repair bill that cost nearly the value of the tractor. It hurts. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk

  24. I did actually a few years ago, but I was refering to the OP. Not enough resources for rural crime yet miles out of town. Camera vans and sneaky officers hiding until the last minute.
  25. 20 miles out of town as well.
