  1. So how much of a discount if I turn up with a £100 note with a picture of the Kessock Bridge?
  2. Found on youtube.......
  3. scbk

    Storm damage.

The best smoke screen I've seen is chain oil in the wrong hole (not today, as we didn't have a storm)
  4. Scots pine allergy apparently https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/12/07/norwich-scots-pine-tree-allergic-south-norfolk-council/ https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1mrrzdz7kko
  5. As I understand: If it's for employees, 20% VAT If the person buying it is going to wear it, 0% VAT https://www.gov.uk/guidance/protective-equipment-and-vat-notice-70123 2.1 Protective boots and helmets that qualify for zero-rating they must not be supplied to persons for use by their employees 2.6 Zero-rated industrial helmet accessories If you fit accessories such as visors or ear protectors as an integral part of a qualifying industrial helmet, you can zero-rate the supply of the complete helmet. But accessories supplied on their own are standard-rated.
  6. If they were sold with a hard hat as being a set then the entire thing should be VAT free. Might be hard getting the supplier to understand this That's as an individual. As a business you're supposed to pay the vat then claim it back - same for boots etc.
  7. You can tell you're in the south of England, most Transits of that era up here would've rusted away before covid!
  8. I like the radio wedged in place with rizla packet, I had that on an old van once
  9. Yep the TCF engineering ones have the option of a 50mm ball hitch drawbar, I've towed it with the muck truck before. You can also mount the handle in numerous positions, to give you a cart that is short and nimble or able to carry long lengths. I moved a stack of 16ft sawn timber (larch) with it
  10. I bought it a few years ago, it's probably excluding for both. Yes the wheels have bearings The wide wheels are much better on grass
  11. I've got the TCF engineering one, it's good, especially with the wide tyres. It's well made, quite heavy, I imagine the stein one is lighter. I use it a lot at home round the yard/garden Brash Cart - TCF ENGINEERING WWW.TCFENGINEERING.CO.UK Our Brash Cart is ideal for tree surgeons, gardeners and foresters to move brash, logs, timber and chip.
  12. There was a fresh pile of rubbish dumped in the woods at a side of a single track road near here a month or two back. I was passing on the bike, so stopped to have a rummage. Found a euro crate (strong plastic storage box) which I was chuffed about so took it! There was the usual household stuff like a telly, and also a large pile of books. The subject of all the books was all related to islam. Was even a book on islamic law - I didn't look to see if there was a section on flytipping!
  13. I would put that in a much bigger pot, and leave it outside. What's your plans for the trees, plant in your garden, or somewhere else
  14. Nah she got some Latvians instead
  15. Swap for homemade cake, or something similar
  16. Not used one but would rather have the exhaust gasses going outside than breathing them in
  17. Thought this was decent for the money in Halfords, £22 for a little (light duty) 3 drawer tool chest Halfords 3 Drawer Metal Portable Tool Chest | Halfords UK WWW.HALFORDS.COM Shop the latest The Halfords 3 Drawer Metal Portable Tool Chest is perfect for the DIY enthusiast. at Halfords UK
  18. They're trying to stop that, they apparently check the messages for contact details. Obviously one way as a seller is have your phone number in the photos, so long as someone else doesn't report the listing
  19. Seems since the changes now the buyer HAS to pay in advance? And you will need that code to work to get your money?
  20. Turns out as of 1st October buying & selling items on ebay, for cash on collection, is no more. All payments now have to go through ebay. There may be an exemption for vehicles, certainly for vehicle classified ads. As a buyer you have to make the payment in advance, before you've seen the item. The payment goes to ebay. As a seller, you have to release the item before you've been paid, you need to get a "collection code" off the buyer, and then at some point ebay will (maybe!) release the funds to you. The buyer may be able to make a claim and use the money back guarantee to get a refund. You can't (easily) exchange contact details before the sale has gone through, ebay monitor messages, and apparently they will ban you if you get caught. I was trying to buy a couple of items off a local seller this weekend, in the end we got him to make another listing for a small item for £1 for collection only, then end the auction early to sell to me, I pay the £1, then get his contact details so I can go round his house and buy the other stuff. I've been on ebay since I was a teenager, over 20 years ago, bought and sold items for local collection all over the uk, shame they seem to be killing this off
  21. It's when the vehicle won't start so will need towed away on a truck, they're desperately trying to flog it for half the value it would be worth, and they say "only needs a new sensor, very quick fix for someone, I just don't have the time" AYE RIGHT!
  22. Free heat, whack it on! Sine they changed the recycling bins here to a separate bin (every 3 weeks) for paper and card, I've never once put that bin out. All paper and card is either burnt on the stove or composted (or used as weed suppressant).
  23. You have to live next door to this guy for years to come, don't get involved in any petty arguments, it's not worth it. Go round and knock his door, with a bottle of wine in hand. Say "Hi, I'm Jason, your new neighbour. There seems to have been a bit of an misunderstanding on my part, and I realise now how much of an inconvenience that acer must have been. My wife makes a mean lamb rogan josh, would you like to come over for dinner this Saturday, as a way of us apologising to you?" Then when he comes over, chuck a few yew berries in his curry. I reckon 4-6 should shut the bastard up for good.
  24. Oh, HMRC has entered the chat 🤐
