  1. Nope, would be interesting to run one of mine against it. Circa 3 seconds difference in cut speed so circa 15% between the two!
  2. Who was the seller? I know a few and can vouch for them! Looks fine to me!
  3. I was just going to say the same thing. I ordered a few Echo parts and didn't mention who I was, I had a little issue so phoned and after a long chat about all aspects of saws, he sorted it all out with no problems at all. He is "Rob D" on this forum but best have a chat - prices online can be a starting point for some sites as once they are through the floor, there is no way back up.
  4. I also meant to say that the marks look negligible and not worth worrying about. It is highly possible the hylomar caused the mark on the intake side and the mark on the exhaust side is where the piston has pushed against the exhaust port. It is also possible that the ports may have been slightly rough and have marked the piston but these cylinders are generally well made and will pull 180-200psi when fitted new and OEM. I will PM you on the squish!
  5. Sorry, missed this one. I would say a bit of chip or dust has got down the inlet side forcing the exhaust side of the piston in to the wall thus marking it and the mark on the inlet side is the witness to the dust/chip that got in. Check the air filter is clean and also the rest of the air-box.
  6. Thanks for letting us know, glad it worked out and I can stick another notch on the bench! Those springs are a bit interesting to fit, never found an easier way than the method I described.
  7. I would just read through my "Whats on your Bench" thread and it will give you a good idea of how I diagnose issues. I have changed some of the way I work over the years plus have gained more experience though......nothing stands still!
  8. Probably a bit of copper or butane formed from heating it.......beginning to feel a lot like Christmas😂
  9. Sounds a bit more than grim. The guy seemed pretty happy it was working again. He was digging the holes with a spade as he had the view that using a mini digger didn't seem respectful - funny old places grave yards....you find yourself talking to the graves - cleared a few fallen tree branches from our local church!
  10. Needed a quick spray of Cilit Bang....Bang and the mould is gone!! Hope your friend made it BTW.....wouldn't want joke about it if he didn't!
  11. I once repaired a Honda drainage pump for a grave digger......one of the weirder things I have had in! Worked really well once the carb had been overhauled!
  12. Bugger, that's the house prices lowered. Will have to knock the crystal meth factory on the head now!!
  13. I did the experiment, water still there, a layer of dye and it didn't work. A lesson learnt - just put the fuel in a clear container and pour off all the fuel and bin the water at the bottom of the container! Another blower with a load of dodgy fuel...now fixed!
  14. Bugger, he is out with the fairies, will have to wait until Saturday morning. He's never been the same since he smoked those magic mushrooms!!
  15. What is it singing? Something festive or something child like...Disney or similar?
  16. Chrome here! Not my drink of the night but my browser!
  17. A swearing fecking Unicorn unless I am mistaken and ask the wife.....I am always right!!!!!!
  18. And whats this, Scotch bloody mist: -
  19. I think the OP may be on drugs judging by the swearing unicorn!! Not sure I understand it....probably my age!
  20. I reckon that the spring will be the issue. Fitting it can be an interesting experience. A bench vice and assembling the bottom half before putting it in to the vice helps. Mole grips usually come in to getting the spring back in to position. Make sure that the spring isn't bent or damaged when fitting, the first one is usually an experience. Once the spring is in the bottom half and in a vice, push the spring in to the top clutch shoe, clamp it with the mole grips and then I usually lift the shoe with a screw driver whilst forcing the spring in to the shoe with plumbers grips. I am sure ADW has a factory tool for the job, bless him but us mere mortals use hammers😉.......and take the ridicule and abuse!! I am thinking the spring is pretty shot and is allowing the clutch to be always engaged thus the stalling when the brake is applied. The most obvious is usually the route cause.
  21. Yup, good workout, who needs a gym!! Good when it starts though.
  22. It bloody well kills me starting it, no wonder they put a valve in the carb you remove to prime it! It is a big ol lump by anyones standards!
  23. Well it isn't one of those ones from B&Q😉 Yup, the 80cc one and is curiously difficult to pull over now! It was just a plate of aluminium about 1.5mm thick.
