  1. Nearly all oregon sprocket numbers end in x. The number I have quoted is for a 2 piece powermate sprocket ( clutch drum and replacable drive rim) I don't think a stihl or husky bar will fit without modification so you have to options - genuine Dolmar or Oregon .I would expect the oregon bar would be cheaper and quicker to obtain.
  2. Use OREGON®: Public to get your part numbers or pm RobD. Rob only lists stihl and husky parts on his site but i'm sure he can get you oregon parts for old Dolmars.
  3. Have a look at a front wheel rim. There should be some numbers between the wheelnuts. Something like 5J x 16
  4. Well you have the correct method , but Marks tyres are 75% profile:lol: Anyway the radius will be about 7% larger so not too far out. Will be ok on 5 1/2" or 6" rim.
  5. Rim sprocket kits are available:001_smile:

    new chain

    Rapid Super Comfort
  7. I've been running my old 56cc dolmar with a 9 x 325 sprocket and an old 15" Husqvarna pixel bar.Yes its fast but its cutting a narrow kerf. If I was all Stihl like you are I would keep to the 3/8" by 63 gauge and run a 15" bar with a 8 x 3/8" rim that would be compatible with your other saws.
  8. Do you have a rim drive or spur drive sprocket ?
  9. I saw the handle under the table ( in the dry ) but I assumed you must move it into a more convenient working position.Or do you work it with your foot ?
  10. Now that's a proper table.Where is your spool block ?

    split oak

It looks like the right hand fork is splitting away from the rest of the tree. Could you pollard the right side at the fork and then shape the left side to rebalance the tree ?
  12. Makita saws are ok and should be quite capable for what your doing. Why did it fail ? Old fuel or incorrect fuel mix ?
  13. Without looking at mine I can see the bar and filter cover look wrong. Fuel mix 25:1:confused1:
  14. Buy your own nets and bank ALL the profit:thumbup1:
  15. Discovery transfer gears will give you 15% higher gearing and increasing tyre radius from 205/80R16 to 750R16 or 235/85R16 will give you a 10% higher gearing:thumbup1:
  16. If you take the core out of a tractor tube in cold weather the valve will ice up as the pressurised air expands. This is how fridges, freezers and air conditioning works. The same thing is happening as the cold compressed gas exits the nozzle.

    how old

Have I read somewhere that you can use a chainsaw if you have left school but are not yet 16 - so maybe a few weeks before:confused1:
  18. The farming exemption is for pre 1998 users doing agricultural work on their own land or words to that effect. But then domestic users seem to be exempt also.
  19. My Husky 40 had not been tuned in the 15 years since I bought it but it allways run like a good un with a slight whistle and no sign of any 4 stroking.12 months ago I bought my tach and it was maxing at 14,500.Recommended max is 12,500 but I've set it at 13,000. Great copicing saw on 13" bar:thumbup1:
  20. Which model is it ? Has someone removed the baffle plate?
