  1. Younger than you you old fart 🤣
  2. I just searched eBay for the cheapest. Can't remember the size but search for that.
  3. Most dealers offer spare blades. Some are total ripoff, but others OK. I recently managed to pick up two sets for £30ex VAT a set!
  4. Tell them to whistle if they only give you a little work, any decent company is snowed under. I had the same thing, told them I didn’t need their work and they were ringing me up desperate for an emergency job the next week, accreditation didn’t matter 🙄 Its a box ticking exercise simply to line the pockets of parasites.
  5. Good idea, but the pump might be a little weedy. Ideally you'd have a pump that was well matched to use all of the engine power, plus cooling system.
  6. Every time I use my Lister generator I’m amazed how little fuel it uses.
  7. I love this chipper. For anyone thinking of buying one, go as narrow as possible. Who cares if you can’t tow it around? A wee chipper is useless if it won’t fit into a job. Shitty eucalyptus reduction and some magnolia butchery. Strong candidate for worst access of the last twelve months. Fifty metre narrow path and then this sharp turn. Bumped it round, squeezed it in. Saves literally hours.
  8. How much do you want to spend?
  9. You'll still be able to carry our an exempt operation (which this is, forestry) running your plant (which this 4wd would be if kept off the road) on red. However latest guidance says you'll have to totally flush out tanks with white before performing a non exempt operation...
  10. What about an Easylift harness? Take the weight off your hands. If it's a nice easy hedge without too many obstructions they are great.
  11. I've got a vision of the op hitting the gas by mistake and careering down the hallway, bouncing the cutter wheel off either side. He lashes out widlly for the emergency stop, but only succeeds in turning on the wheel. The clients cat shoots out from under the hallway table, right into the wheel as it loads up.🤣
  12. Hmm, plausible. However I have a fleet policy and didn't get done. Also- just used the online checker. £9 in Bath, free in Portsmouth.
  13. You and me both mate, exactly the same. **************** Bath, it's full of tourist tat anyway. Spend £400 a day there somehow, now that's £440 a day! Not going back. Incidentally, with reference to the Portsmouth one. Apparently they are not going to charge private vans and cars? An I'm sure I must have been there since the zone started, but not got done. I wonder how they enforce that? I can't personally believe that they are capable of automatically sorting log book details into companies and private unless it's just scanning for 'LTD'
  14. What did everyone spend theirs on? Thank you for my birthday present Mr HMRC 🤣
  15. I got caught by one recently whist visiting Bath. Tossers. I didn't see any signs, apparently it's only been active since March too.
  16. Not a bad engine, I have a Corsa van with one in. Got a lot of go for a 1.3 diesel and very economical.
  17. How much flow rate do you think a pickup PTO actually puts out?? Let alone running the hoses around. You'd better budget for a massive oil cooler on the pickup somewhere also. Direct drive is the most efficient drive posible, and a petrol 30hp engine is so much cheaper than all the above.

    Jokes???

Santa Claus you c**t! Wheres my f*****ng bike?? 🤣🤣
  19. Dated, and will require constant maintenance. Lots of rot also unless it's been exceptionally well treated. For that money you'd be better off with an old Ranger IMHO- they're not exactly good on juice either, Fond memories though- was my first diesel 4WD- so my first proper tow motor.
  20. Baltic abrasives are where I was going to buy from. Seem to know their stuff. pretty sure I’ve had a couple of regular bench grinder wheels off them.
  21. Way more hassle than an engine directly mounted. 13hp petrol will give you 30l/min. You’d need a much bigger diesel engine to give you the same, and they are a lot more money too. 30hp petrol Loncin is around 1.2k plus vat.
  22. A beaver pack won’t run any reasonable size stump grinder. Your biggest beaver pack is a 13hp petrol engine. The basic pedestrian machines are all 13hp, with no hydraulic losses. I’m going down the route you suggest, but with an auxiliary petrol engine on the head- it’s the only feasible way. 30hp loncin should do nicely!
  23. Yes, come and have a play with the loaders and also have a play at sharpening a drill bit on the big cbn bench grinder. You’ll see why CBN is the only feasible option for such an application as a chainsaw grinder. It puts a razor edge on in seconds, and with no heat. It’s like witchcraft! 6% price increase on Sherpa from January I was told 🙄
  24. This is mainly for long chains. And CBN will make a world of difference as to how sharp they come out.
  25. Wanna flog it then? 🤣
