  1. Ooh brilliant that's great to know, it just goes to show! I'm after a side cowling for the steering column as the previous owner lost mine! I will pay very good money as it's the only bit missing from mine hint hint:lol: Where are you based monkey business? I have a workshop manual if you need any info, I have planned to show my restoration on here but not got round to it yet. I have put it on you tube if you search holder a60 Thanks again rich
  2. The reduction hubs aren't available any more so make sure they are topped up with oil, the front gear box oil needs to be changed regularly as the pto clutch is oil immersed. The injection pump also has a bit of oil in it, mine was full of rusty Gunge! The door contacts the tyre on full steering so the door bottom windows are very often missing or replaced with tin. Put some pics up for us:thumbup:
  3. I've got one and it's awesome! It goes any where and can go on an I for Williams, rebuilt both gearboxes steering clutch pto etc hope pic works
  4. Ha ha it will be great one day.....when I stop spending money on it:001_rolleyes:
  5. Thanks to nj timber for selling it to me!
  6. Here is mine, doing a full restoration, will start a new thread soon, Holder a60, not put cab or loader on yet until I'm happy with set up
  7. Hi j Goodwin pm sent Cheers
  8. I have one on a 90 hp jd and the stress control hardly ever kicks in,
  9. I use a jcb beaver and it speeds up when it needs more oil, the good thing is that it dosnt tie up the tractor, however if the ram was too big I think it would struggle, I have 10 ton ram
  10. I remember an reading an article which used a small axe to promote epicormic growth in beech trees to aid reduction. The results weren't great but it did work. I wonder if gaff wounds would at the correct time of year have the same result? Sorry for going off topic!
  11. Does that include posts? It would cost me £20 just to drive out of the yard!
  12. That's got to be a typo??? £20 to hang a 12 ft field gate??? You must be very busy:thumbup:
  13. The trouble is it's such a poor light on the dash that it's easy to forget you are in 4high in the days of a good old leaver it was noticeable when in or not Mine gets used on the road in 4 accidentley quite regularly and seems ok so far It also dosnt have separate 4wd and diff lock so I assume some kind of traction control?
  14. Here you are..... The Log Rover Project
  15. I built my own using a big ram and rsj, I power it with a jcb beaver pack for small stuff, it's good cause it has a on load sensor so when it loads the pump up it puts the revs up. I use tractor for bigger bits. When I built it I did a lot of research not only on flow and pressurebut in to the shape of the splitting knife. I started with a srraight knife but it was rubbish and I was really dissapointed, next I angled it and it was better but kept jamming wood against rsj, finally ended up with a shallow curve, and I'm really pleased with it, Try googling flow fit as they have kits with pumps engines pipes and Rams in all matched up ready to go, even if it's not what you need you should be able to use their figures as a guide Cheers
  16. I have a 36" on an 066 and it's fine, it's definitely worth getting some gran berg ripping chains, I find they are better than the stihl Also I really recommend an gran berg electric sharpener from rob d as you can get the chain better than factory sharp in the woods! Good Luck and post some pics of your work rich
  17. There is a hole in the floor with a square thing which changes the circuit from free flow return to blow/suck for want of a better term! The machine is solid and really pleased with it, when I have finished renovating my holder a60 she will also be getting the full works! There is a place near me called kedgeworth who do Komatsu parts, make sure you show us when your done
  18. "there's also been an unplanned purchase of a Komatsu PC10-5 (2 ton)" Ha ha I will remember that one next time my wife asks! I have a pc 05 and it looks about the same age, mine is piped so yours may be to, look on the floor and mine has a change over valve and a floor pedal, you may be lucky. The other thing is as soon as I had mine I had to lift the floor as it had filled up with years of mud and bus tickets so much that the levers couldn't operate the spools fully!, proper machine with no flimsy body work!
  19. For an easy recipe if your in a rush in the morning Lump of gammon and a can of strong bow Lump of beef and a can of cheap bitter Set to low ready at 6
  20. Very interesting David thank you for sharing, can you let us know the long term outcome of the tree. I guess you won't get chance to look again in a years time?
  21. Hi jimbo welcome to the site- and most importantly welcome to the arb digger club! .... The first rule of arb digger club.......
  22. I use an sds drill on hammer only with a sharpened flat chisel on a long home made extension. You can sharpen easily on site with grinder and it's nice and long and thin so gos down hole easy. Runs on genset and can be used to chain drill concrete:thumbup:
  23. I had one and did this, when the links get to the top the trailer Gos up. Eventually I cut in to the flow from the pump to fit a double actor spool with pressure relief, was about £200, Good luck
