  1. Thanks, I have tried the o rig and it does work, I just don't like the idea of bending and side loading the splice, I will try the rescue strop on Monday as it should be a good length, if it's too long you carnt reach the top of the hitch cord to get down!!
  2. I have been looking in to this for a while but not been brave enough to tinker with the original fittings, so was wondering if just for ascending using the hitch climber any one had used a short sling for example a rescue strop, attached to some kind of ring on one end and threaded on to the bridge, then clip the Dmm oval on to the other. Not sure I'm making sense? But I carnt be the only person needing a bit more room between me and the hitch climber pulley? Cheers
  3. Yes ours uses very little, but I just put it down to lower chain speed and only using it for pruning 2-3" branches all day
  4. Has any one used the tsurugi? it's very thin and great for getting in to little gaps for pruning, if your in the market for a new toy I can recomend. Not sure how to do a picture?
  5. Hi john nice job, I for your email the other day but not had time to reply! Cheers rich (kl)
  6. Go for 2 or 3 as a mate has had his Garrage door bent at the corner to open a small gap!
  7. Yes it's great for pruning, and deserves as much respect as a silky!
  8. Hi silky, I have one and a back handle for the chipper, it is great, we call it the turkey carver! One thing is you need to get your cuts spot on as the bar traps if you get lazy! Sharpening is interesting as well as I didn't think I needed glasses! The teeth are Tiny!
  9. Just ordered both, top and back handle for tree use and garden/ chipper use, hope they are good!
  10. Great thanks mick I didn't search that far back!
  11. I am looking at the stihl battery range, it will be for small pruning jobs and up the tree, has any one used them? Any thoughts or avoids? We already have the normal petrol range, we already have a battery hedge cutter and they are very good Or are the husqvarna better? Thank you all in advance!
  12. Hi ed did you get my email?
  13. I was trying to remember the alternative engine yes- deutz f3:thumbup: The whole tractor is over engineered but the engine is only bolted in with 10 m12 studs! Most were abused in the woods and mine spent a lot of time swiping so the pto line is worn and bent!
  14. Thank you, that's great, I will fit one too when I get hold of one, I did see them at the apf and they do look great for light pruning, I recon it is so small it will fit in my lunch box so has good security features too!
  15. Hi rob, Link works fine from eye pad So sorry for being a bit slow but this is the better bar and chain to get when the 2511 lands? Will it be less skittish? I havnt had an echo before so not really up to speed with the chains Cheers
  16. Do you think they will have them at the apf?
  17. Hi nick, she will go back on when I get time, it's all piped up and I did toy with the idea of quick releases on the pipes, I need to sort road lights and indicators, I was very excited to buy the number plate! I also need to fit the belly plates and cab guard, back window paint doors, repair wipers, re seal turbo, re line roof, repair stereo, fit new check chains, etc etc!! It's a great machine, do you still have yours?
  18. Njtimber on here has one for sale with a mulcher
  19. Hi nick, hope your well? Here is your old one! With cab on now just need to sort lights for the road and do the doors:thumbup1:
  20. I have a holder a 60 and use a hedge cutter and it's ok, does your crane have legs? You could fill the tyres with water to ballast, or what about double wheels? The a60 is quite long as all the engine is in front of the front axel. I also have a loader which would be extra weight out front. The good thing about the holder is its low down, send us a pic if you do it, Rich
  21. Aah I thought you meant the upper ball spherical bearing?
  22. To do main swivel joint will you not need to split it ?
  23. Hi I replaced the ball joint on mine with a pattern part. They are called spherical bearings and any good bearing supplier should be able to supply. As for the clutch I took it to a local clutch relining place and he sorted it, I can send the details if you want or are local to Dorset ? When you split it it's worth replacing the needle bearings in the props shafts and giving it a good grease up:thumbup:
