Damsons and bramleys doing ok this year - another 7-10 days and I reckon I’ll be making 25 - 40lb of damson jam. Not a single fig this year, redcurrants poor, eating apples ok, few raspberries, courgettes and small yellow cucumbers cropping well. Not much time to do anything else

I’ve been given something similar by one of my customers - Coopers of Stortford so read Chinese crap. He never could get it running from new. I can get it to fire and run for a few seconds, then the cylinder fills with fuel and needs draining out. Shan’t waste my time trying to get it fixed - it’ll go on the scrap pile. I’ll stick with my KM + attachments - at least these are repairable

A few years ago a mate of mine moved to Perth and took a container load of possessions with him including his car. This was cleaned extremely thoroughly by a specialist firm before being driven on poly sheeting into the container. He had certification provided that this had been done to the correct specifications. Not sure what other stuff he took and have lost touch so can’t ask him unfortunately -

Cost for hedge cutting ph and waste removal

Depends on what type of hedges, height, width, level of equipment needed ie tripod ladders, long reach cutters, extensions, any chainsaw cuts of thicker bits? Chipping waste or paying to tip? I prefer to give a price for the whole job unless its really big, then a day rate with a best estimate of how many days it should be -
I’ve got to the stage now with the new ones of selling them on once out of warranty- had several rebuilt and they had been greased regularly. they get used a lot so I budget for a couple a year - the used ones can still make decent money back if in working order

Just climbed out of some snotty, slippery conifers being retopped - Raining cats and dogs and I’d forgotten how much I hate working in the rain! Luckily I did them last time so decent foot and hand holds left but I’m soaked to the skin, exhausted, pi…ed off and want to finish and go home to get dry ☹️

Oh yes, let it go free 👍 was very surprised as we are in the suburbs, over a mile to open countryside. Mind you we had a few partridges in the road, two mallards sitting on front door mat and a muntjac in the garden which is fenced in all round, 6ft high!

Morning all - rare Saturday off for me 👍 starting with second breakfast in the pub at 10-30 then a music festival from around midday. Chucking it down with rain most of yesterday, last night and up till early afternoon to gonna be a boggy one ☹️ Wife’s in a wheelchair so could be interesting to say the least!

Even if it’s just “lying around” it still belongs to someone and taking without permission is theft. Check with the landowner as it may be due to be collected, left as habitat etc. alternatively they may be happy someone will take it and save them a job 👍

Morning all - after working solo yesterday in stifling heat,tidying up neglected grass and hedges at a doctors surgery, I’m happy to have today off. Had an early wander round the local bootsale and shortly off to a foodie festival. Hopefully there will be beer there as well so we can sit in the sun and relax 🍻🍷👍

The newer stihl hedge cutter heads, white ones are made of cheese - just nowhere near as good as they were so for this alone I’d be looking at other brands. Happy with my Echo but only had for 4 months so far. Shindaiwa strimmer bought last year has also given good service so far

My mechanics code reader wouldn’t fit/work with my 2007 daily - he had to borrow a specialist one. id be looking at earth connections first and as doobin, wrote above, a short somewhere. Italian electrics can be a real head scratcher even for an experienced auto electrician
