Exactly same here - next two days are written off but have a few bags of logs to deliver so will get them loaded undercover and ready to go 👍

Yeah I’m surprised too - keeping my regular and annual customers on their normal schedule and explaining to new ones when I quote and has worked so far. Normally 6-8 weeks lead time. Doing three Saturdays out of four trying to keep up but it’s coming in quicker than we can clear it. Got three jobs of a week each and several 2-3 dayers came in within the last three Sundays quoting. May need to raise prices a bit more 😁

Busiest I’ve ever been in over 30 years - booked pretty solid right through to the end of March. 95% small to medium domestic work. Put some in at higher prices and still got them. lost some as they wanted them done “next week”

Only a month! Some people have waited over a year, some have had a drop off within a week. Have you read all the tips to make your site more attractive than others? whereabouts are you? it’s mainly aimed at those working outside their usual area, saving them a trip back to base to tip off. might be worth contacting some local firms asking if they’re passing you, would they like to tip at yours, or go out walking, cycling listening for the sound of chainsaws or chipper then having a chat with the team. Logs are in much higher demand now with the cost of living currently- I have even had guys pay me to take my logs away from sites on occasion. Wish you the best of luck!

Tree of heaven or staghorn sumac? Only ever dealt with the latter- lots of grubbing out with a mattock and ecoplugs in main stump. Repeat as necessary

Well as a landlord I’ll take exception to your comments. I rent to a variety of tenants, from benefits claimants who will always be so, will never work either through disability or by being of unemployable types, through to short term contractors who go where the work is until they move on. one tenant has been with me for 18 years or so. Sometimes in work, occasionally on benefits. I strive to provide decent accommodation, carry out all repairs promptly and don’t put the rents up by extortionate amounts. I’ve had tenants who have wrecked places, stopped paying their rent, installed a cannabis farm, had asbos against them etc. Thankfully most are decent people who look after the properties at least to a fair degree. So to tar all landlords as arseholes would be as unfair as to say that all tenants are bad.

This 👍 I use stihl battery blower with several batteries most days but for big clearance the Echo PB8010 comes out to play - never fails to put a smile on my face 😁

Same - just let them float to the surface and fish them out at the end. Was going to try stoning them next year. end result - 19 jars of lovely sweet toast topping for breakfast 👍

Electric chainsaw will really struggle - the trunks are very fibrous and it will jam up multiple times - even a more powerful petrol saw will jam but has more chance of powering through. Maybe better to find someone local and experienced to drop it for you. If you do the disposal it’ll probably cost less than buying the saw. What’s your location?

Just got three pans, 4.5kg of damsons on the stove this evening to make jam - one of my favourites 👍 the usually productive tree only had a dozen or so on it, and the later one had a reasonable amount. Should have done it last weekend as lost a few to being over ripe but we had a bbq here last weekend for 53 people so I was otherwise engaged (read that as f….ing rushed off my feet) 😂

Plus one for this - has taken over from my ancient Hayter twenty one with 5hp b&s. Easier to start, more manoeuvrable and leaves a pretty good finish for a rough cut mower 👍

On the 360 two of the teeth protrude a few millimetres further out, these are the leading teeth. Guessing on the bigger machines it’ll be half of the teeth? The pocket or carrier is where the teeth bolt into
