    Why if it safe gaurds peoples jobs - perhaps with such a large company behind them they can shake off the past (and even pay contractor on time)

    Such a shame - i worked there for 8 years and had alot of great times they were a good company to work for, as for OCS buying them (Office Cleaning Services) do you really imagine them undertaling a utility contract etc. Lets hope something positive comes out of it

    Ive heard its everything support, forestry - my mate did grounds maintenance on Cannock Chase and theyve been told its gone and all staff made redundant
  7. Hi we are doing a felling job on a National Grd gas site mid Feb near Altrincham does anyone have a tip site where i can tip at least 1 load of chip a day for 5 days - your more than welcome to all the wood off the site mostly Sycamore and Ash as payment.

Sorry to hear your news , being "local" ive heard of him but never met him (as far as i know) What you have written is so obviously from the heart and such characters are getting fewer and fewer and harder to find (ive met a few in my life my dad being one of them ) Thanks for sharing this , its such a shame the younger generation will never meet such talented and professional workers. We work in the following- Network Rail - PTS training will be given - though you will need to pass D&A tests Utility Works - UA tickets big advantage National Grid Gas - this will require CIB checks as they are highly sensitve sites Plus domestic and commercial works.   19. After 25 years in the firewood game im considering a change of direction just was wondering what my business may be worth ? Ive got the following- Ecommerce website with well over 200 customers Japa 320 processor with log deck David Brown 1210 Manitou forklift Compact timber trailer Ifor Williams tipping trailer Approx 100 vented cube sacks Approx 50 barrow bags Shipping container Sawdust extractor / baging unit Petrol Riko saw bench Various promo items Bag stand and bag loader Approx 80 ton of seasoned hardwood in cord lenght (elm/ash/sycamore felled 18 mnths ago) Approx 2000 nets of kindling Various sundries -nets, spare chains & bars , etc Its all you could want for to get started , still not sure i want to sell - very reluctant. What would you want for this lot money wise as im at a loss how to price it.

  21. These are good but word of caution - a subbie of ours had these and couldnt use them on some of worksites as they are are not CE marked as they are from the states - shame as excellent product
