  3. Good old Leicestershire County Council arb team were doing work on the main street of Ashby de la Zouch , yes they stopped working but couldnt the powers that be have planned a better day to do it as they were obviously in the way of the public trying to watch the parade
  4. We had a nightmare finding some we were told that all the British stock had been sent to Sweden or some such place

  7. As Andy Collins said it WILL make you ill , 2 years ago i was in hospital with meningitis bought on by stress. Ask yourself why did you go into business? Its because your a good tree surgeon but that does not make you a good buiness man , i did HND in Arb in which we briefly touched on business , im sure students studying business dont breifly touch on arb work! Best advise try to have an outside life that has nothing to do with work where you can switch off, delegate when ever you can and dont try to do that you may struggle with eg book keeping - know your limits and set yourself realistic boundaries. Read about stress on here there is some really good advise from those who have gone through it.

  9. Beware of the sizes on the stihls ours arrived last week in medium - had to send them back for large ones and they still look like drain pipes

  11. We are currently looking for staff and team leaders for on going works. Rail experience an advantage though not essential. We require climbers, ground staff and operatives who are not affraid to do other tasks that may not be tree related. We are based near Jct 11 M42 but work country wide. For more details please PM me

  16. As we work on rail we have pre employment drug testing and random tests there on. we lost one climber through this who had random test - instant dismissal ! Ive found through the years that weed almost seems acceptable in the arb industry after work etc but it affects you whenever you take it , moods , temperament etc BIG NO !!!

  19. To be honest not found much difference on the quality - though they fade really fast. Its the price of Stretch Air , up to now theyve been the only manufacturers that did class 2 and are gort rated - got some stihls for £160 instead of £250 for stretch
  20. Im sick of stretch airs aswell, ive bought to pairs of class 2 for rail work for 2 new operatives - will keep update of them
