Basically you get a map with overhead line on it which you then walk / survey noting the following- Tree species Tree category (live zone, proximity zone or shutdown) How many hours required for work Span affected in percentage - 25/50/75/100 Equipment needed Environmental issues Permission from land owner work to be done Seems easy till you get a shitty land owner who planted trees to screen lines etc or the electricty board has upset them and you get it in the neck All recs seem to be looking for graduate level nowadays - why i don know as they dont have the practicle cutting experience!

One more point - he cant sharpen a saw - cant work out which file to use ( oh and hes ahd well over a week off due to playing rugby - in different weeks!)

Rebulit a 341 replacing the barrel and pistern from an old saw that was smashed - only problem is its got really bad vibration and cant work out why:confused1:

Just come accross these on ebay - 3 things worry me 1 - Was somone seriously turning up to work in these 2 - Item description states "a little bit of the protective matterial has been ripped but they will still save your leg" 3 - Some plank has actually bid on them FFS !! stihl chainsaw trousers | eBay I know the link wont probably work as i can never seem to get it right but its really worth a look

When i did my ND we had to learn 20 different trees every week in english and latin from twigs, buds and leaves - im so glad now

Am i being fussy- should someone whose spent 2 years at college doing arb to be able to id an ash tree - in fact any tree , is it teaching standards or the youth of today !
