  3. Just realised today weve had another one gone this time in Hope Valley on LV shutdown the lads seem to think its the land owner as they went to see if it was still there and this chaps cut down loads of trees and logged them up in the week since we were there-and he didnt want to answer the door to them. What can we do????

  6. Hi guys one of our teams was working down Leighton Buzzard way today , as they only needed one climbing and one ground saw they thought theyd leave the others in the van .Theyd parked on a track near the railway where they were working next to a busy road , they decided to put the saws on the rear seats of the ranger under some coats instead of leaving them on display in the back . They came back at dinner to find someone had smashed the rear passenger window and had the saws away. If anyone gets offered them let me know and ill sort a reward out - little hope i know. What has really pissed me off though is the insurance excess which we thought was £500 is in fact £750 as we havent got a tracker fitted to the vehicle ? Whats that all that about. The claims man even had the cheek to ask if it was really worth claiming for!!!! I did ask him in which case was it really worth us paying insurance for

  10. Bugger what a numpty i am 5th anniversary today and just found its wood - just for once it should have been sooo easy to get the present
  11. We had a Firebelly with a back boiler fitted when we had the house extented, the system has two pumps when the back boiler reaches 80 degrees it turns the gas central heating off and pumps round the back boiler heating. Its got a Dunnsley Nuetraliser (what ever that is ) that mixes the two together. Weve got a radiator on the landing that acts as an accumalter / over flow this only comes on when the stove is lit. Thats all i know about it it took a plumber and an electrician a day of head scratching to sort it out but it works, dont know if you can plumb in a combi boiler though
  12. Know what you mean plus how can something so big come in under 750kg - Acorn in Birmingham only have quadtecks i think they have over 10 of them , im getting one in on demo will put results on arbtalk

  21. Fuelwood had a brilliant one at their open day i will add the phots in a bit
  22. Utility arb - mostly powerlines - the rail side is not so bad but the prices have dropped and your travelling further for work
  23. Is it commercially viable just to do firewood - wholesale and retail. Im in two minds about just concentrating on firewood its really where my roots are and enjoy it far more than the other side of our business which seems to be getting more cut throat and bogged down in endless red tape and brown envelopes!
  24. Just small items that wear out - prussiks , gloves etc very boring - the bank manager or the wife wouldnt be very understanding if i bought what i really wanted
  25. I was travelling south on the M1 this morning around jct 16 when i passed going northbound 2 transit crew cabs tippers in white, one had a timberwolf tracked chipper the other had a tracked MEWP on (looked like a Lionlift 18m). Just wondering who they are as we were going south with virtually the same kit. Does anyone else ever see other companies and wonder the same or is it just me doing too many motorway miles (140 odd today)
