  1. Not that it helps, but i have a sizeable belt linisher. Finish with a diamond
  2. Yep i used to reduce parents lime previous Pollard every 5 years mornings work. Neighbors convinced it was causing subsidence insurers insisted it to be repollared with in a year bushy and overall taller than how i had maintained it.
  3. Seems very hit and miss with people, see so many heavy reductions on trees where in reality 4m of is just pointless plus the tree is at is natural max size. These toppings just create real long term issues, would rather see a fell replant and then properly maintained at an appropriate height ho hum. Maybe i just hate climbing over sized and poorly attached water sprouts
  4. Well the way you are talking about your soft sucky, keep it to your self
  5. Gone gone, no sign of it at all.
  6. Couldn't wait for a reply so ive ordered one and some drenaline, I'll let you know how it goes Ive got loads of types of ropes to test it on asell
  7. A1 reply I was trying to be nice, my personal view is if you are doing big jobs and cant afford a blower your doing it wrong.
  8. well i do apologise for the light humour, if you bothered to read on i did say the makitas are good, well built and nice to repair plus parts are pretty reliable.
  9. will this be published post event? Be interesting to see the views on topping, in the context its given makes sense, will you discuss topping big trees for particular reason. After all tis the season to see trees post leaf revealing water sprouts and puny growth points
  10. That was a very smooth demonstration, what i do not understand is why we are not using techniques that IRATA have been working on for a good number of years. Personally i would rather use my duck on a back line in the same way i would when abseiling SafeTec Duck-R | rope access backup device - shunt WWW.UPANDUNDER.CO.UK The S.Tec Duck-R is a back-up device in the style of the Petzl Shunt but in this case it works only on one rope and has been certified for use in work at height scenarios rather than as... Will this be deemed acceptable?
  11. horay im not alone
  12. if it was going to settle it would have settled
  13. called a rake aint it? sorry slow evening Ive used and repaired a few makitas perfectly acceptable blowers
  14. i often think these post exist from someone with a complex, who cares what someone else does if they are taking your work then your patter is wrong i know loads of qualified tree cutters who are nothing more stick shapers, poor reductions and denial of science angers me far beyond some prat smashing his house to bits
  15. I would really like to know to, my long lasting well serving rope wrench got lost on a job rush to pack away after thinning a large ash tree im gutted had it since isc first released them
  16. looks like a juicy read for this evening
  17. am i covered if i use my safetec duck much like i would when irata abseiling? cant see it being inconvenient personally
  18. Ill make an exception for one the firms 661 which keeps loosening its bar nuts off Mid cut standing there with just a powerhead in hand
  19. Always do this on stems, makes them pop over and off easier
  20. i did alot of 2.5x bar length fell when i started out couldnt afford a proper saw, still will go back to a smaller bar just to make sure i still can do it. A good amount of climbers i come across cant fell particularly well 372 with a 24" would be my one of my more commonly used saws
  21. Never been so busy on the trees, fella i climb for is booked until jan Have 3 other firms who want to book me for climbing, and im still getting queries for carpentry work (my first trade) but im turning these down rather finish my house and stick with the trees
  22. the plate has webbs on the back, these would allow a sqaure cut for them webbs to sit in
  23. I would have thought 3x wll would have been sufficient, or an engineers design
  24. Its an imposter, that's a chinese kit saw i remachined the cylinder base its a beast of a saw
  25. Heres mine was using it to raise timber away from a clay tile roof, made the job far too easy groundy loved how easy it was for everyone involved. Only had one ratchet on as what was lifted wasnt huge and no negative rigging He easily winched and tailed the rope, i have designed a mk2 which when i build i will convert the winch to self tailing. And when im happy with my pair I'll get them shot blasted and galvanised I do also have a company in mind to load test it all
