  1. Mine was used to pull a back leaner few weeks back. It's had some reasonable bits rigged from it, I have got a second one to build up which will allow better attachment in this configuration and also better fairleads for the in feed side the out feed I like as I can tie it off
  2. I've always stowed my saw, I use a dmm vault once you get it's easy to unclip one handed. Ive always thrown my saw caught the lanyard eye then clipped it up, it's completely instinctive
  3. Swedish people cant make tea (well this one couldn't), politely accept a tea. The utter cheek when they suggest, if its too strong I can add more milk!!! I can assure you there is less milk in a cows udder
  4. i don't want to get to into the politics, but when wealthy buy land and property as assets firstly it wont happen but if it did the country is crashing and we all lose
  5. Higher interest rate yes, but on property that was proportionally less of a salary. Prices are so ridiculously high compared to salaries
  6. Good friend is an architect I was hearing worrying rumours few months back. Initially it was just office workers which are the majority of directly employed workers the rest being contractors. Now hearing of other architects work is drying up. Time will tell.
  7. Brother messaged this morning to say neighbours tree has fallen over. I'm to busy elsewhere to sort it Of course now stressing about his trees falling over, probabilities say no.
  8. So......... Who's been silly enough to buy one? I'm probably not the ideal purchaser, I know that because i use a homebuilt capstan/bollard
  9. I was ready to rock and roll at 6 this morning, down the workshop getting my kit together. Company called to cancel. Atleast I got all the saw repairs back to people this morning and took a few more to do, plus all my saw parts arrived except 2 piston snap rings. Grhhh! Not a total loss I guess.

  11. i'll never quit swings, or grappling hook
  12. I think we will need a go fund me poor paddys keyboard is taking a hammering. Im not outright against it or for it, its certainly job specific i wouldn't abseil irata without a backup But then i wouldn't cut without a second tie in may that be a lanyard, like how we've been working for years I can conceed why people get pissed with you paddy alot of the chaps having be cutting for a long long time and certainly know their stuff arguably we don't know your time frame in the job and it sure as shit isnt the same as aerospace
  13. Can't see me going over to two ropes in a hurry 10 years in cant see much benefit. I will on occasion use 2 lanyards but bloody rare
  14. I use mine without the guide so just the stone, pretty good onsite. For home invest in a proper bench grinder.

  18. I think for now the programming is complete The Arduino has 4 selectable loadcell calibrations so i can have a 20kg 100kg 2000kg and 5000kg loadcell On button press it will display the maximum achieved Scales can be tared The hardware side is a morning from completion i do enjoy have a bigish mill that can remove some proper material , im awaiting bits from the laser cutters then i will be building a testing a completely new design of climbing device preliminary 3d print prototype was very good Aswell as load testing my rigging winch Finally can stop thinking about c++ for a while you wpuld or wouldn't believe the agro a bloody bracket can cause in an if statement Unti next time
  19. Im almost 90% sure hes had a business in that aswell
  20. That would be my thought, not like you are causing damage
  21. Just do it.
  22. Has google not told you that trees are self optimising. You really need to do further research. In realtity trees dont just blow over, nearly every tree ive dealt with has either had an underlying condition / freak storm or such we are not every day cutting up tall trees because they've blown over.
  23. Did this guy just say tap root

  25. Normally the clips are brittle.
