  1. tar paper?
  2. the worlds simplest adjuster made it about 8 months ago whilst stumped on an ascender i was trying (need to finish it)
  3. i feel 14" bars are a bit unwieldy nice on take downs.
  4. Couldnt agree more
  5. rightyo. yeah i suppose like that it makes sense
  6. i cant see how its much safer. Surely if you cut one rope you are probably in a position to cut both at the same time. but with a strop its normally in a completely different position almost away from you main line. you are more likely to cut your strop and be left on the main line. the thought of cutting by either line or strop should be avoided
  7. Ive been climbing just over a year now so far no accidents or damage touch wood. ive done a number of bigger dismantles, was aloud to do that early on for a few companies i like to be level headed safe and with no ego, which why i think people trust me ( i just get on with it, just slower than others until im comfortable). I have spikes just didn't put them on which for me is odd on a dismantle in fact and oddly i love pole work on spikes with a bigger saws Maybe im a sadist or geckos are the nuts. I have spent alot of time forest climbing which has taught me a few different techniques like the cut log grappling hook which can be really useful especially on steep poles in the rain. Cant and wont disagree about the top cuts being sloppy, which is why i like the camera as you can kick yourself later when watching back the video and hopefully not repeat Piss poor performance. i think what happened was it being a simple tree i basically was being lazy (im big enough to admit the truth). I hope i haven't sounded like im trying to suggest im the mutts nuts im most certainly not.
  8. No I agree about the stubs I normally use spikes but alas I I didn't, I hate leaving stubs as a slip on to a stub sounds painful. Just helps push it off I cut over half way and they are easier to push
  9. Don't get me started on the hat I carry two spares in my truck. One of the people is the boss the other is a customer still no excuse seeing as I have them. Also slows down the job as I'm for ever waiting for people to work out things fall from where I am not from near their feet. The echo is a wicked saw. Would certainly have another depending on how long it lasts. Plently of power just waiting for my 12" bar to arrive. Sadly I didn't record an awesome job from a few weeks ago 3to1 pulley set up to pull limbs up mid swing to clear a hedge. Can't do rigging like that if I'm climbing no one is good enough here with ropes yeeez. I've been climbing year and half and picked it up with no trouble you'd think after 20 years youd get it lol.

  11. Yeah they are very predictable I've learnt. Though i have climbed loads that have been pollarded and started to rot out.
  12. Thought i would try out the new helmet camera this seemed liked a dull enough job to not be saddened by a bad camera angle. Though seemed i got it right. Im also using the new echo. small birch tree removal New ECHO cs360tes - YouTube
  13. good at climbing though, if not dangerous.
  14. im guessing by the comments im doing it wrong?
  15. i love a good haggle
  16. well i'll be selling my husky i have decided to buy a second echo. i think they are truly the nuts. Had her slicing 13" dead, hard oak didn't struggle. and it starts with such ease. Its also really nimble and so comfy and comfier two handed than the husky to i tend to use it two handed more
  17. very good company did you get Matt hes a top bloke
  18. if husky made it. its arms would fall off and cost a fortune. Yes im bitter about my t540
  19. Used mine today for the first. All i can say is im well impressed dont think id consider the other brands especially when you look at the price difference. But ignoring the price it works really well, seems really well balanced in use. haven't put it through any thing big yet so cant say much about power but i love it. easy to start as well. time will tell now
  20. Where abouts are you based if your not far from me im happy to rec climb for a day, i have a harness and rope lid lanyard you can borrow. best decide how you like being up high before you start.
  21. What harness all harness sit differently
  22. ive lost 3, paid for 2 getting expensive. Shame i love the saw and im not that rough with it they only need one drop to bend them and dont get me started on tech-lite bars.. Mine was bent so was being extra careful and mid cut it went all floppy so stopped immediately. and no spare saw on site so had to pack up tools just for a spring. so whilst in the dealer bought an cs360tes i dont feel it will be £200 less good either. Like i say real shame love this saw.
  23. i love my treemotion best thing ive ever worn. loads of freedom
  24. I've just bought a treemotion best thing I have done very comfy can wear it all day had a 550 hanging on it today no problems feels like you could even hang a ms660 of it. . Same goes for gecko spikes. I've found it self tends on 13 but needs more rope underneath it
