  4. I would pick up my 540 over an ms200. The 200 and 201 seem so heavy in comparison to the t540 Sent from my LT30p using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. My first kit I bought 45m rope cut 5 meters of for lanyard but I can splice myself so you might be best buying it spliced. Micro pulley for lanyard. Two krabs for lanyard Then you need another krab for main line Might be a good idea to get a hitch climber makes learning to climb easier Then 10 meters of friction cord. Has so many uses
  6. My bat is arranged so I know where everything is annoyingly someone pit my gear away I didn't check and lost a pulley. Only cheap but was annoyed. Dont let other s put away your stuff
  7. If it doesn't grip try another wrap. With the vt you have to just know how to tie but not necessarily use the same amount of wraps and braids. With the rw I have two wraps two braids with out three wraps two braids Play around i love silverstreak
  8. Cinch with a million. Attach to line with a prussic below the prussic a figure 8 works for me
  9. I was wearing my distels for 3 hours few days ago first time in them very comfortable. Buying anything else will disappoint.
  10. This is my first attempt at a class 1 splice on tachyon was a nice once I had my head around the new england instructions. Was made hard by being used rope.
  11. I will be doing my cs38 and cs39 soon latest june i think. I rec climb and work under supervision with two companies so can physically climb and use a chainsaw but i climb with a HC and vt, on my assessment would i have to go back to using a blakes or prussic. And what about srt would i be able to srt on the assessment. Also can i get on site assessment. Many thanks.

  16. One company ask me to do a reduction I do as hard as I can with out murdering the tree he always says take more of which would end up a topped Tree so I ignore him do my own thing customers prefer to see a proper job. Bosses justification is the respond well. Water sprouts are not a good response at all.
  17. Clarke cut and climb on warmer days I wear it on top of a tshirt I love it fits a harness perfectly
  18. I like the idea of a pelican case or similar
  19. When I had a motorbike I'd ride 15miles to work to get there and be told the others couldn't make it in due to snow.
  20. I hope to not cause Kevin any offence but if I can make it and enjoy doing it then I will. Must be the only 20 year old living by make do and mend. Haha
  21. Not all I'm 20 I will go to work with any illness I will only go home if I'm told to. Mostly it's not noticed that I'm ill or hurting. I go in for the money I'm not paid enough to be ill. mist of my mates though wouldn't work for the money I'm paid. But it has its perks I'm unqualified now doing most lead climbing being trained. But when I do cs38cs39 I will expect a bit more money but I'm not greedy and I'm not the greatest. Just dedicated.
  22. I'm using 13mm New England but when's it worn out I'll buy tachyon have it for my side line and think it's great. Here's the rope wrench I made since made a stiff tether not as pretty as I hoped but seems to work. If I like it I will make a better one.
  23. Hug a sloth or make stirrups with slings.
  24. I've been climbing for 3 months commercially before that about two weeks in a harness. I started with a Blake's hitch and pulley thought it was great. Then got tired of it binding and went to a hc and vt wow I was impressed, life was easy then invested in cambium savers. But I always seem to think SRT when I try to position myself I'm just not efffecient on drt. so I've been playing with an ascender descender tool for SRT whilst I was figuring stuff out I made a rough rw, tried it out liked it. Left it there still climbing drt at work. Still bashing ideas around my head in the garage I decided to make a nice rope wrench with a pulley wheel I turned up on the lathe and tried it for the first time at work. I work two medium oaks form one tree wow I can swing with no effort redirect my self to get to the very tips of trees walking on 1inch thick stems, I think this is possibly the best discovery I have had in climbing so far. It so easy even the more experienced teacher I work with said I looked more comfy got around quicker and adapted very fast. I think he will be on SRT soon. Was good as I thought I was done dead wooding and lifting the second tree got to my first anchor to be told to go back into the other tree to do some more. Drt I would of been wound up but not SRT I can move about so easily. I love it. Possible the most fun I've had at work so far. Thanks for reading.
