  1. I use silverstreak come to like it alot. And I have 2-3wraps 1 braid a twist then another braid. Really fast hitch. And if the cord length I'd right it grips well.
  2. It's mad my first one delaminated just realised my current one is starting to only seen a few months action. What's the best alternative.
  3. Now she snoring
  4. Well after a like normal early start mashing loads of chains, discovering my 540 bar is DelaminateD, having a mad rush to get home ready to get to partners family meal. Partner continuing to a party. Im here moping up her sick which is mostly down the toilet. And floor and my feet. And having to get up for tomorrow fair to say I might just scrap tomorrow. Super.

  10. mine was awesome at first then rubbish now mega. I think they need to be constantly running cant handle prunning use a 150 for that
  11. Fuji or Sony.
  12. I personally like the Jamie Oliver teffal range.
  13. Read he died tree fell on him.
  14. Depends all brands have weaknesses I'm well chuffed with my 550 taken a hammering. And 576 is very nice ms660 love them.
  15. i gaffed out whilst felling a top of a eucalyptus, maybe about 30ft up 6" pole , dropped the saw on my arm luckily it had just stopped spinning shook me up put me off. forgot about it few weeks later but it reminds me to be careful
  16. i know what you mean i left my wrench out of my gear bag was gutted to be on ddrt. I only really use ddrt to reach my final TIP then go srt i just use one end with a prussic and upside down srt gear so if i have to descend it gets pushed out of the way. When i reach the tip anchor in get out the amount of tail i need then tie in the srt line and anchor into srt stuff good to go . SIMPLES
  17. so is my vt just it has to be spot on with the rope i never dress mine but like i say its a perfect setup for my rope. When i first used the vt i had to dress it until i had got the cord the right length
  18. Yep find a decent company and get lots of experience starting out a business isnt easy with so many doing it. Wish out trade was taken more seriously And wouldnt advice working on your own

  20. i use a cut and climb in the tree and swazi on the ground cant be beaten
  21. found a crack on my friends zigzag glad i checked for him
  22. Oh I totally agree. I'm personally not keen on petzl I think a lot of what they do is over priced cheap equipment. Just putting minds at rest. It would personally put me off, it shouldn't happen. And that sequoia buckle was bad. I bought a cheap singing rock harness timber 2 much nicer built than petzl and cheaper. I also now have a petzl lid sack of crap in comparison to my kask sadly the ear muff attachment keep breaking which is an expensive hobby. They had the same when they released the plastic gate crab. Surely they could see that wouldn't take abuse.
  23. Certainly is. Another point my stiff tether works a dream.
  24. Was reducing a small oak today about 30ft but just pencils and only needed tips prunned on the canopy bit harder on top. Previously topped looked bad But no anchor one stem strong enough to drt but would leave you flat lined or struggling with branches in the way. Not a worry redirect across and dropped down hitting it in quaters. Only pruning saw work almost seceteurs at the lower canopy. It was one of those jobs that makes you love tree work. This is why I love SRT I don't use it in all climbs and have a drt setup ready to go and an srt setup, but when I get the SRT kit out I know it will transform a job from difficult or impossible to super easy to difficult. it just Opens up new doors makes everything possible.
