  1. Looks good, we might be moving our cabin on to our land which has no mains electricity ( quote from western power was eye watering!), can it be a stand alone power unit with Just panels and no mains?
  2. Jesus Christ, that’s what skimming through does for ya! Assumed it was about arb show! Twat. So yes I’ll be there!
  3. Was hoping to go but life’s got in the way! Work and my 9 yr olds football cup final. You going to apf?
  4. True, it’s a compromise, my customers are a pretty good bunch by and large and most are happy to wait a few weeks when staff/machines need putting in place.
  5. It’s the only way to travel! Your paying £700 odd quid for the pleasure of it being on site, the least they can do is drop you in!
  6. Nesting nuthatch stops play on this monolith removal
  7. Yeah, it works well in my neck of the woods, I sub them in, and sub into them on their jobs, a pool of good lads who get on, have a laugh and make good money! It’s not a bad way to make a living
  8. Good call, life’s too short to be waiting for intermittent problems to reappear!
  9. It’s also quite job dependent, a lot of my stuff is relatively small scale domestic so me and a £80 lad (who can use a saw, lets it run and doesn’t put the pitchfork through the chipper) are a profitable, happy unit. On other more complex jobs I call in the £120 super groundies/second climbers. Horses for courses.
  10. Just out of interest, how come? Has the lift pump packed in?
  11. I can see how the series of events went, boshed the crown out by lunch, feeling confident, lunch break, chogging down, then the 3 o’clock panic kicks in! Can see the job sliding into another day, so do a risky fell, I’ve been there, not hit a car though(touch wood!)
  12. I’m so gonna preorder one of them!
  13. Yeah, it’s a completely different saw compared to the original 201 s, I love mine!
  14. Will be the fuel solenoid I reckon, £16 part, easy to fit
  15. That’s why they are out 16 hrs a day, just trying to cover the finance!
  16. I’m staggered by this, I’m usually a bit of a bleeding heart liberal but they need a kick up the arse and be sent on their way.
  17. That’s a fair price, I’m similar for truck and chipper, considering an owner operator in a £75000 tractor only gets 27ph round here it’s a good living!
  18. £80 a day with own kit and fuel is shocking! Could easily do 12/15 quid on fuel and oil

    Tiny echo!

Cool, mines running the1/4 bar and chain already, looks like the big drill bits are coming out tomorrow!

    Tiny echo!

Still really impressed with mine, it’s on stihl bar and chain now after the Sugi one shat itself, only use my 201 when I really have to now. Still meaning to send it to spud.....
  22. Aye, think my ‘business model’ is pretty similar to yours, one man band and subbie labour, and I do love the flexibility of it, Im off doing festival work for most of May (dicking about in a telehandler and trying not to ogle the scantily clad women to obviously) so can stack a lot of work for when I’m back, really wouldn’t want the hassle of three gangs and 12 week lead times.
  23. It’s very very rare I’ve a six week lead time, I feel like a god when I’ve got three weeks in the diary!
