A wise man once told me the 261 is the ford cortina of chainsaws, gets the job done, but very uninspiring!

Class may have been slightly misleading! I meant as in 40 odd cc class! Nothing will ever touch the 242

    I’ve got one, it’s ace
  5. I hope it works out for you, and ideally that would be a feasible wage for a good groundie, but in reality think you might be hard pushed at that rate, I pay max £120 for a groundie with similar quals/kit. But stick to your guns, if everyone demanded that money prices would have to go up!
  6. Very nice mate, take it your just waiting on the rear diff shitting itself now then?!
  7. Any machine can go tits up, it’s how the manufacturer/dealer responds that is the important thing imo
  8. Ha, thought you’d reply to this! I’m talking to her this week, and will see what transpires, but no, I’d just fell, extract and sell on. It’s really good quality. Your first on the list. What would you pay roadside?
  9. Tbh, they are not fussed about money, I just want to offer a fair price as they are really sound.
  10. One of my more top end customers owns 5 acres of ash/oak/sycamore, been relatively neglected and plenty to come out, all processor sized, level site with road access for lorry’s. So what should I offer per ton? Ta
  11. Not sure, runs off the gear box so assume it’s a gear pump
  12. It’s blown twice in same place, proper hose
  13. I can’t change pipes because the winch is massive and needs the flow
  14. Is it easy enough to adjust the pressure relief? Or would it be better to fit a new one somewhere in the system? The pipes off the pump are massive going into what looks looks like 3/4”
  15. I’m upgrading my mewp, the one I’m interested in keeps blowing the same hose, the mewp has been fitted to a leyland dad 4x4 with a big hydraulic pump, is it likely to be too big a pump or a knackered relief valve? If it’s the pump I’m assuming you could fit a flow restrictor? Thoughts please
  16. Mate of mine hired one and reckons he did £60 of petrol by lunchtime on a massive stump, would soon eat into your profit margin...
  17. Putting a line into the tree officer? Sounds like a good way to get your consent forms through easily!
  18. Don’t turn jobs down, say yes of course I can, then sub it out, spend the day helping/watching.
  19. Get a zigzag, your body will thank you!
  20. Yeah, it’s my pet peeve, flat out in a 300hp fendt, fully loaded and looking at their f ing phones!
  21. It’s certainly more expensive!
