  1. Yes Ratty, and what a feck up it was. The management company who have run the site supplied all the parts we were there to fit it, to be fair they are usually very good, but someone got this one wrong. We needed 2" guide rails, we got inch n a quarter, we needed the biscuit on top of the chamber the right way round, guess what?, we needed the main contractor not to move the control panel cabinet and bury the ducting. Never mind, I did get to cut 300mm off a 110mm rising main before I realised the compression joint was 90mm. 7 hrs n 550 miles later we achieved feck all. I'd made my mind up I wasn't going back tomorrow, so I'm having a little sweet number, it's down the smoke though.
  2. It was grim in Yorkshire today we were working not that far from York, a place called Market Weighton. Nice to have a local job in the pi$$ing rain all day!
  3. Is this not CBIL's, not BBL. Either way, we all will pay for it.
  4. I'm being serious this time, Stubby. Was it a no-brainer or did you think about having the vaccination? I'm no anti, just curious.
  5. Yes, it's the road out of Cavendish, towards Pentlow, Rodbridge.
  6. Says a bloke who chooses to live in South London, or whatever it's called now.
  7. Did I mention we'd had some rain here over the last few months? Note the raised walkway next to the fence.
  8. Try to keep the weather up there, tidy yard. What are the solar panels powering?
  9. It put me in mind of when I worked on a 'gang', first sign of frost/snow and it was a day in the office, the office was The Cross Keys.

  11. Neither would I worry about it, in the same breath I wouldn't give out advice on tax, insurance, and licenses if I hadn't run it by someone who knows these things.🤷‍♂️
  12. The OP said from the very beginning he would consider getting his tickets and do the job part time, he also said he was self employed. It doesn't need the likes of me to dob someone in, not that I would.
  13. Are you just saying he should check this, like his insurance, or is this how it really works?
  14. I'm sure you realise if it's waste he will need a waste carries license?, that aside I'd take the word of a member here who's been through the courts involving this matter.
  15. I'm not in the industry, but I did have some climbing tuition from a member here who will remain nameless because he was rubbish. You will know him if shows ever open again, he'll have a can of Stella in his hand. Never, ever sit down for an evenings drinking with him, both will end up drunk. hope this helps you to move forward.
  16. My brother worked in Osaka a few years back, one time when he came back we went to a Japanese sushi restaurant down the smoke. First and last time for me.
  17. I would say you can make it work, keeping a part time job to cover the bills is a spot on idea. Does your smallholding make any money?
  18. Nothing would surprise me with you two.
  19. That would depend on what wood he plans to process, to get to his £30k he's going to have to buy in round wood, the first thing he will need is a lot of space to store the timber, get 4 artics in and 100 ton takes up a lot of space. I started with saws, processor, splitter, a tractor to run the processor and a tractor loader to handle the round wood and load the split wood, tractor loader wasn't ideal for handling round wood but I got by with it.
  20. I set up from scratch many years ago, there is money to be made but you'll work for it unless you've got the equipment to handle everything. I lasted four seasons before I jacked it and sold all my gear. There are plenty of easier ways to make money.
  21. I'm just not driven by it, I've got a woman who fixes my technology mess ups. I keep her kids fed, seems like a fair exchange to me.
  22. The clip on the left is me when technology doesn't do as I tell it, quite regularly really.
  23. You couldn't make it up. COVID-19 lockdown fines reviewed in Derbyshire after women 'treated like criminals' over country walk NEWS.SKY.COM "We were literally two villages away from home," Jessica Allen, who was walking with her friend in Derbyshire, told...
