  1. Still in need of someone, my current groundy is going to be off for a while and need a replacement for a while. Anyone in need of work or to top their week up? Ideally i just want one person I can keep using rather than using different subbies to tide me over. Anyone interested just get in touch
  2. Take some pictures and make sure customer is of the same opinion also then take the bugger out. Sounds like your dealing with plonkers at the council Comprimised stem / union. Its used to having the mechanical stress and form of theee stems. Next bad wind it could just peel it like a bananna. Not good inna frequently used and sensitive area. The damage could cost thousands. Head stones are expensive and knowing it poses a risk and council not leting you sort it straight away is disrespecrful
  3. In need of a self employed groundsman for work in and around Barnoldswick Lancashire. Minimum req are cs 30-31. Main tasks are dragging , chipping and clearing up etc maybe some log splitting. Please pm me if interested
  4. Has anyone else had a renewal through from any of their companies theydeal with? I have pli , el, and plant ins. 5yrs no claims with the company and its gone up £220.00 extra for the year!
  5. Looks a good job woodypaul! Always like to see tractors and timber trailers working on site! How do you find that farmi crane? 4.6mtr reach? Been looking at a trailer with one on. Good Job

  7. Would be looking 2nd hand so would be out of budget. Would look at bandit but would be too heavy and need a mortgage lol
  8. Only if its made of decent metal. Rather step up size in chipper
  9. So thats the equivilant of a case 856 or 956 dependant on 4 or 6 cylinder then
  10. I've been thinking of upgrading my chipper, i do like older models and no electrics and rubbish approach. Thinking maybe a forst tr8 or a jensen a540t Only issue for me is finding a decent jensen dealer as i havent up to now found one im satisfied with after redwood finished with them. What size do these chippers narrow down to? And what do they weigh? Currently run a jensen a 530t and want to speed production up more. Works really busy and a bigger chipper would make life a lot easier
  11. Yup, seen some on a beech i viewed at the weekend
  12. what about a case 956xl 6 cylinder? simple machines... or would you prefer a smaller more nimble 4 cylinder?
  13. you could or should be able to pick up a good old 064 for not a lot of money and that would be better suited i would think
  14. yup Kretz
  15. Not a clue and not bothered, i was asking about the saws. Makes no sence for a business to pay out 40.00 a week for aomeone to bring their saw
  16. surely it was cheaper for the company to just kit their staff out with saws? 40.00 a week per employee? back then were saws cheaper also?
  17. Extracting some wood the other day from a job
  18. Id say more a case of people upgrading and some that have tried and it is either not for them or they couldnt make a do. Some may struggle to find wood aswell
  19. I recently visited jasp wilsons in dalbeattie scotland. Great bunch of people, lots of knowledge and equiptment. Things made to order and custome made. Had a tour round the factory also!
  20. I have dropped on 2 decent lads atm who will graft, i just dont wanna stagnate and end up in the same place i am in 10 15 20 years time. I know what you mean and i feel the same. In the time ive been doing the job theres only been one lad out there whom i would fully employ
  21. Why will you loose loads of site work? Get a list of 3 subbies or so and try each of them when you need them, one should hopefully be free. 3 is a great number for tree work at times! Finding good staff is hard work a lot havent got any work in them
  22. How big is the root an how bad is it girdling the stem? If it was small enough surely it could be severe to allow tree to grow well
  23. All you really need is a bit of power, some spools an a pto
  24. I do like older tractors like you say 30 years on in a new tractor nah all electrica will have ruled them inop and to expensive to repair
