  3. Hi there, going to have to make a firewood store for this comming season, i need to be able to split the logs, stack them and then leave them and not worry about them getting wet! What type of log store would be best? Apex roof? or just sloping roof? Does there need to be decent overhang of the roof say 3 foot at the opening, and a foot to the sides and rear? Was hoping to just get some posts, then some rails and have gaps between the rails, say of 1", Is it better to have a long thin log store to allow the air to penetrate all the logs or is it down to space? Whats the biggest area/volume you would stack and be happy with the amount of air that would circulate through it? Also do you build so the wind will blow straight into the shed? or blow the side so to speak then you don't get the rain blowing through? Want to nip this log store in the butt! as its giving me stress Any help greatly appreciated, Stressed Chris
  4. Anyone else know anything about the 1412? Or would a ford 7700 be a better bet with the knackered cab? Both would need money spending on them either way..... David brown in better condition cosmetically

  12. Wonder if its worth trying to knock one up.... Bucket on my tractor is only 3' 6" long Do you mean make a saw horse with a little ramp at the rear, the logs roll down it into bucket?
  13. One thing also is that i want to make the logs uniform in length, so i can say to customer that the logs are 9-11" long Can't be helped with the rings but the lengths can all be cut to the same size.
  14. I do like the sound of the saw horse into the bucket idea! Maybe a good put on or trial All suggestions greatly appreciated.
  15. I'm building up each year.... probabilly 20 cube this year.... got about 8 ton + to process yet for next year.... but will be bringing more in no doubt to stick into next years aswell... Also going to stack timber this year oppose to just throwing in a pile!!!
  16. does it need the converter? what is a converter? there's a hiliki pikkie on ebay for 1300 quid.... they seem to hold strong money 2nd hand... maybe too strong
  17. Tractor has 54hp at pto and 540 and 1000 speed pto How much is a japa 700 new?
  18. Was just thinking of utilising the tractor running off red oppose to the saw on fuel and oil.... or does it work out even?
  19. Hi there, I currently just use a hydraulic splitter and a chainsaw, but for the past couple of years have found that it takes a long time to process wood and i need to speed things up to make it worth it! Just to state all my wood is arb arrisings. I'm hoping to start bringing wood back more in lengths. I have quite a big pile which i want to convert into fire wood soon and stack. I have seen the oxdale and a few other pto saw benches, look really safe an fast/efficient. I have just been looking at japa 100 and the hailki piikke? Spelling and saw these have a screw splitter also.... Most wood as said will come back in lengths, but i have quite a few large rings 24" dia + so the japa etc no good for them, would have to continue using my log splitter for them. Or sell that and get a screw log splitter? As you can see i'm in a muddle! How much are these japa's and the other one? Many thanks for any info in advance! Cheers

  24. Hi there, Can anyone tell me what make or tractor these wheels came off? the rear wheels and they are 28" dia and wide beggars! 14 or 16" wide! Cheers Chris
