Just wondering if any of you subbies have written into or even use t&c's and saying that if cancelled with short notice that the contractor will be billed a % of your rate? Or something along the lines of this... Usually i don't work for the companies again if they play this trick often but think they should still pay you something as the day is knackered if you haven't anything else to fill it with! And you have a set amount to earn each week just like the jokers who let you down food for thought lol cheers

Hi there, looking into making a wood shelter at some point. Have picked up some 10ft spruce lengths the other day. Would these be ok to use as posts for a wood shelter? or would they rot to quick etc? Would save 10.00 a post so 150.00 ish with how many i would need.... CHeers Chris

I'm on more than the other climbers allready... as said lots will climb for 80-90 a day. I climb for 120 a day sometimes more, and come accross all sorts. And then it gets to the point that you show people what you can do and they book in even more work in for the day! Sometimes more than safely possible, even when your going at it! When your doing a hell of a lot of work and then comming down and chipping, cutting etc, clearing up as you should and as i do, Thats the point I KNOW IM WORTH MORE.

Exactly!! People on here know all the outgoings there are yet never take into account when talking about day rates on these threads...

Strange subject this really. All varies where you are etc and experiance. I need to up my day rate next year at some point, most people round here only want to pay 80.00 a day for a climber lol and needless to say i don't work for them! Really you need to be on 150.00 a day if you can tackle all jobs and get stuff done on time! And safely. Depends on experiance as i said! I KNOW I'M WORTH MORE THAN MY CURRENT DAY RATE!

Sods arn't they!! I had my bag nicked from a truck when working a few weeks back, we were only 15 yards from the truck! Drove up the road to see a few contents splattered on the road, then further down they had tipped it all out, rifled through each pocket and dropped it. Off to have another round of the town to see if they could get owt else Scum, good job it was only my bait bag!! And i didn't stick my wallet and keys and mobile in there like i usually do!

Yeah sawdust in the eyes is a right pain! Also it rests on your fore head and eyelids and drops back in your eyes when you whipe your face lol how you doing anyhow dave? Hope your keeping well.

Use the wood boss if its ok, and see what you think of it. The 08, not sure what to do with that, either sell it or hide it under and at the back of the bench.
