  1. soudely, aa routefinder shows it as being roughly 38 miles to general bristol area postcode is GL14 2UB
  2. how much you want for it delivered to forest of dean matey?
  3. there aren't a lot of single cabs about, and a lot of the ones that are don't seem to be 4x4 from what I could find when I was looking for one, I ended up getting a Landy 110 for this reason but I know they're not for everyone!
  4. if you're after budget, I have a Supatool axe that has seen a hell of a lot of use wood splitting, been hammered on the back countless times and is still going strong after 3 years! Handle is finally on the way out, but head seems in pretty good shape still. SupaTool HW4 4lb Axe, Hardwood Handle - 800mm Length I keep thinking about buying a nice axe, but would be afraid to use it as it cost so much!
  5. cheers, I have no intention of bidding as not really looking for a chipper, was just having a browse on ebay when this popped up! but good advice for anyone who might be tempted. only put it up here in case it helps anyone who has had theirs go walkies..
  6. didn't notice wrong model in pic, but then I don't know my chippers very well! since I posted it price has jumped from 99p to 1,850... anyone on here by any chance
  7. Just seen this on ebay, it might be just me but a few things don't look right... - no previous feedback - no reserve or VAT, cash only - knows the model and engine make, but not much else - "for a friend" who has no internet, these always make me a bit suspicious! TIMBERWOOLF WOOD CHIPPER TW150 2008 NOT GREENMECH BARGAIN NO RESERVE | eBay cheers, Joe
  8. you would organise the felling of the large mature tree so that it jumped off its stump, twirled gracefully around avoiding the object underneath, and conveniently split itself into perfect manageable rings when it hit the deck. There you go, two answers in one
  9. maybe I should have said apart from ex tree surgery blowers they don't get abused much
  10. I brought a secondhand Komatsu Zenoah backpack on ebay for £150, seems equivilant to the BR600 in terms of size. Lovely machine, only problem was finding a throttle cable when it snapped but found a company on the Isle of Wight which does parts. I'd look for a secondhand backpack, biggest you can get IMO. There seem to be a lot of decent secondhand ones about for £150-200, I can't imagine blowers really get abused in the same way as saws etc...
  11. I like it, but would agree with Steve the lettering is a bit odd, looks like your name is C. Autility (I'm assuming it's not!) But apart from that looks very good
  12. someone collecting free firewood from hedge and couldn't fit that one in car?
  13. if you get really desperate Jon I can ask around my landy contacts if you're happy to come to forest of dean or arrange postage? not too far from you...
  14. £12 nokia for me, I often work a fair distance from the truck so it's always in my pocket just in case. Battery lasts forever, does everything I need (calls and texts), pretty tough and cheap to replace. And it has a torch!
  15. yep, welding gloves with long arms are the best option I have found, pretty cheap too as opposed to some £20+ gloves!
  16. In my humble opinion, if you have a 50cc saw then 60cc isn't much of a jump for bigger stuff. If you want it for ringing up bigger stuff, I'd look for a 70cc or bigger with a 20-24" bar.
  17. I'd second the vote for Elm if you can get it, if my memory serves me correctly it's what was used for canal lock gates etc
  18. I might be able to find something, I'm in the Forest of Dean about 20 miles from Stroud if that's any use?
  19. what if they just sell innocent looking saw at car boot/ebay/pub etc, and some unsuspecting member of the public tries to start it?
  20. I have a pair of Haix Blue something (Ridge?), the budget ones. They seem to be quite wide, don't know if this carries over to the rest of the range though.
  21. in my 110 200tdi pickup I get 30mpg average, more like 35mpg on a run.
  22. can provide site near Newnham, that might be a bit far though?
  23. The hare is relevant to the business in that I chainsaw carve as well as cutting and planting trees, and I happen to have carved a couple of hares, which the artist seemed to especially like when looking at my website gallery I think it will look alright on cards etc, althought it might need a bit of fine adjustment to go on tshirts. As said, I quite like the having to look closer to see the hare feel it has to it.
  24. cheers all, glad nobody has said anything bad with regards to work clothing, I might consider removing the earth part to make the hare more obvious, if that makes sense? But will cross that bridge when I come to it!
  25. Hi all, After 2 years of using vistaprint, I decided to get my own logo done by a friend who has recently become self employed as an artist. I received the final version today - any opinions? Also if anyone else is considering a logo here's the website of the artist who did this one! cheers, Joe EDIT - the proper file is much better quality than this, but I had to optimize it to allow me to post here hence a loss in quality!
