  2. I've got a clear conscience... No more No more being a TCL
  3. I don't have one, have never had one. Heard we are 'supposed' to have one. Never agreed with it. Never will. It's organic. It's not waste. I could pitch it in a corner and it would be gone in a few years, wildlife the better for. Does anyone know what we're threatened with if we are stopped and refuse compliance? Is it like the Tv licence, where if you don't have one they may or may not take you to court, may or may not charge you, may or may not fine you, and if they do alll of these the fine is only £200? Are there any cases of prosecution that we know of?
  4. The freycinet peninsula
  5. Here's some from Tasmania...
  6. ... and thanks for the informative link big guy!
  7. Ok... So transporting the wood from a job is ok without a waste carriers licence. Transporting clean wood chip is ok? Transporting wood chip with a discernable amount of green bud or foliage (say leylandi) isn't ok and needs a licence. Transporting a trailer load of brash requires a licence. Is that something we could establish as a concensus?
  8. congatulations to all three of you. Looks like you'll be taking a bit of time off then. Enjoy the time, whilst you can.
  9. i feel a complaint to the local national park authority.
  10. or is that implicit in this post? or does it not apply to excurrent conifers
  11. So thinning is good post reduction intervention then? Any other applications? Could you take off the odd branch of an (excurrent) to reduce sail and hus avoid an unsightly 'topping'? Or is that a silly idea?
  12. right then. that's good enough for me. :thumbup1: any chance you could scan said letter from EA and upload it so we can all go to EA locally and get the same from them.
  13. was he trying to fly to iceland?
  14. If you walk out into the wilderness and can't survive you don't deserve to come back. If you climb a ladder and can't climb back down it... self responsibility. get on with it. enough rights with out responsibilty. The Darwin Awards have a place.
  15. depends what car their driving
  16. you can only hope that those kids were doing it deliberately to get money from the bloomers program or else the futures ******.
  17. We all centre our world around a working paradigm. It's the way we function, we have a framework of understanding through which we filter the phenomena occuring around us. It's not a bad thing unless we're closed to that paradigm evolving and growing. However to be too open to change without rigorous assessment of new ideas you can get lost in realms of 'nice ideas' that aren't more then superficially accurate. The scientiffic world, not being an individual has to have an inbuilt resistence to new ideas or it wil be washed away by crap. I believe/hope/pray we're near a time of a great paradigm shift in the understanding of the scientiffic communmity. A new biology, integrating quantum physics, conciousness & neurology, etc... the old paradigm is straining and laboured
  18. Maybe contact a few arbs that are really local to you and ask them to set aside a few choice bits as it turns up (i do for mates that turn) but to be honest mate your problem is the price you're selling it at. Losation is everything. Sod off the local fetes etc. People pay pence. Get it in a cabinet of a trendy local cafe/restauramt/gallery. It will go for ten times that amount
  19. does this need to be a sticky thread anymore?
  20. sun creams only gay when used as a lube:scared1:
  21. Definately getting one of these to add to the kit. Is there any type of super glue people use? utility stuff stings abit. can you buy a speciffic medical brand?
  22. dodgy... the stihl strtch I've seen work well on a mate. stopped the chain dead.
  23. What are other folks methods of staying lithe and nimble? I've always found swimming to be the best way to loosen up. Better then a massage (but not as nice:biggrin:). Stretching & Yoga to prevent injury in the first place. But here's a new one I've found a while ago. Any of you come across a vibration plate. Fantastic. Sorted my wifes back out and strenghtened mine. Can't recommend enough. Leaves a real good feel good factor as well, also work out in a fraction of the time of a traditional gym (which I hate) with a whole host of other benefits...
