  1. neck tether all day long... no problems yet.. if you worry about pinging yourself in the teeth with the micro biner, black diamond make a plastic one that is pretty decent.
  2. the bulldog obliterates the runner in terms of moving efficiently around trees simply because it comes on and off the rope with no parts to drop in about 5 seconds. This opens up a world of opportunities to those who can see when and where to use them. When the runner mk2 comes out maybe it will catch up with the bulldog. Just my opinion
  3. ive always found cougar to be pretty hardcore for a 24 strand double braid.. If you want something tougher than that i would look at 16 strand as mentioned above.
  4. I have one. use it everyday in scenarios where i am using a carabiner as part of the system in a remote location (ie a redirect) once you get used to it they are no drama to open with one hand

  6. i fit the legs first so i can squeeze my fist in between the loop and my leg. Then sit in it and wind the upper straps in until i am sat as upright as i want. Then usually shorten the bridge about 4 inches.
  7. [ame] [/ame] alternative to an alpine butterfly. unties easily even after a very heavy load.
  8. Midline alternative to the alpine butterfly. This knot unties much easier after heavy loads. Circus bowline/ABOK 1056
  9. Good article Paul!
  10. Climbing SRTWP since Kevin Bingham posted the video with his wooden wrench and I made one myself. Ive not used DdRT much since..
  11. x ring cambium savers are awesome. Can be set and retrieved from the ground with a throwline. Its a double win because you can retrieve them in the tree when used as a redirect from your main block too. I use mine a fair bit.
  12. That had me laughing out loud:thumbup:
  13. I would say its pretty likely to be a significant factor in making her asthma worse..
  14. whats the benefit over a natural crotch? I can pull my line out of that at the end of the climb too. Midline retrievable is the only kind worth bothering with for my money..
  15. Copied and pasted from a Facebook set group. Just another example of different nomenclature DRT: Doubled Rope Technique = one system SRT: Single Rope Technique= one system 2DRT: Two Doubled Rope Technique= two systems 2SRT: Two Single Rope Technique= two systems 2DSRT/2SDRT: Doubled. Single. Rope Technique= two systems: one Doubled and one Single.
  16. Fair comments gents, it will be discussed. This is why we have a discussion thread alongside the survey. Thanks!
  17. Thanks Gents If anyone knows somebody who this survey would apply to but that does not visit this site, please feel free to share the link
  18. Im all for simplicity too but, what we do is a bit different to every other industry. I don't think its a reinvention because nothing has changed. What we need is clarification. It doesn't matter what you call it.. it could be multi cender technique for all I care. It is more important for everyone to be on the same page. For that same reason we have a latin name for something that is the same internationally and a local common name which varies from place to place. Not too sure what would happen if we leave Europe, but I think thats for another thread
  19. Tbh bud, i think everything I've got from the states I've paid import on. Certainly all the stuff from treestuff
  20. Here is the link to the survey: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/SHLBJNH To those who take the time, thank you very much!
  21. lucky you! i always seem to get stung for international deliveries:blushing:
  22. No, if you have two the right lengths they sit pretty close to each other so you can just tend one into the other.. if you're only doing light bits its probably not worth it.
  23. I prefer a running bolam... especially after a few stella
  24. Nice one! Cant beat a crane on the case. If you ever need a subby I'm not far up the road:thumbup1:
