  1. Yes chaps, climb up the the skinny redirect. In order to keep your weight in the rope to get back through without breaking bits, 6wrap prussic on the line the other side of the fork. Lanyard into that prussic and release the tension on your wrench. Pull the system up through the redirect, clip back in and lower yourself on your lanyard so the wrench takes the weight again. Voila, skinny secondary redirect passed. I usually bang in one bomber redirect on one side of the tree then go out over the tips and drop through a second skinner one further out when trying to get out on the tips for reductions etc. Oh and base anchoring on pruning jobs so i dont have to faff about setting up a retrievable top anchor and its always so easy to pull out when base anchored.. Work one side of the tree and drop down a nice route to create some strong angles. Then head down tie the other end off at the base and climb up the other side. Saves a bit of messing about.
  2. Its all good as long as you get the angles right Been trying to do all my pruning of a base anchor with a few false redirects as possible and a prussic for getting back through skinny redirects. I did snap a little bit the other day though heading up on a base anchor. Just a pinkie sized twig and dropped into the crotch below about 1ft down..meh
  3. These boys get about a bit. Gutted I couldnt go on this trip but the video is siiick:thumbup:
  4. mine has lasted really well too Adam. Would be cool if you could get a small production going
  5. Hey mtt.tr I use my wrench on a daily basis and have done for a few years. Im testing out Adam Bourne's legacy tether at the moment but i'm always up for trying something new
  6. Do you have a link? sounds interesting. Cougar is pretty decent even with 60m of rope in the system:001_smile:
  7. Basically any rope you get that is sold in Europe (probably with the exception of Beal Dynastat) is not a static as they are branded but they are semi static.. Aka as bouncy as your arb line
  8. HRC is really good and readily available:001_smile:
  9. Haha yeah cougar puke. The blue is preferable for sure
  10. Or U.S. poison ivy:sneaky2:
  11. I just read her whole post on the other forum and all I can see is that the guy trying to rescue her A) didnt need to as she was already making her way down! and B) should have cut both legs of the eye on the bowline so that some form of a stopper was retained and the longest tail possible below the blakes. Although to be fair she said they dont know if the blakes slipped off or the main anchor broke (weird you should be able to tell) Moral of the story: always bang an alpine in above your base anchor as Mark said
  12. Ive heard a few people have made it work. Keen to try this myself. But as Old mill says, the lockjack isnt designed for it. Doesnt mean it wont work though:sneaky2:
  13. Or just make a knee ascender..
  14. Matters. All depends on how high your system sits, how long your legs are, personal preference.
  15. Second that!!
  16. Maybe you should have a look at one then:001_rolleyes: Better padding and more precise adjustment, continuous adjustment instead of 3 slots. although the old one was nice and light there wasnt much padding and if you have slim legs, when the leg loops are done up tight the padding wasnt in the right place for me. I'll be getting the sequoia srt when my current harness dies.
  17. The new one pisses all over the old one
  18. I had a go on the treekit rope runner Ian. Its awesome. I seriously need to get one!
  19. You've been busy! They look lovely and shiny:sneaky2:
  20. Nice one.. there are certainly jobs easier SRT than DDrt and vice versa. Another string to the bow is always helpful
  21. Take more throwbags and throwlines.. Its the jungle.. **** happens and things get stuck. Only stuck 4 bags in 8 weeks in indonesia this year. Last year we got many more caught. Get a bigshot with a trigger. Its hard to hand throw in the jungle with all the undergowth. Climb on a ground based rescue system Be super safe and have fun.
  22. Do you have any idea what species or genus of bees Drew? I have an entomologist friend from indo this year who might have some good suggestions for deterrents.
  23. Agreed:001_smile:
  24. Was reffering to marks 1d joke aside from the jokes.. the cam lock is quite good if you have a spaz moment and load it the wrong way round.. stops you hurtling to your death quite nicely:thumbup:
