  1. Don’t bottle it up man, try saying what you mean. 👍
  2. There was a man who could pose a question. I wonder what he’s up to now!
  3. COULD ALwAYs USE a FOOT SPA to sLOW THE BiRN Rate OF KILN DrIED FACSIMILES MATE THaNKS CHEErS Mate jon I like big butts looking for buts in North Somerset
  4. OP seems less interested in it than we were.
  5. I’ve got too many saws, and there is only one of me, so I try to use different ones so they don’t think I have favourites. Added to that, I have a shabby collection of old saws going back to the 60’s that I use for grins at the weekend. I tend to use Aspen, but if someone else is supplying the fuel on a job, I have no quarms about using that instead. I don’t think I have had any of the ‘brittle rubber’ issues that others report. I must admit that I never store saws with pump fuel in them though.
  6. Typical British ineptitude. Our gangland bosses can’t even be arsed to maintain their place in the UK criminal landscape.
  7. I think your wrong about slavery. Surely all slavery stopped when that bunch of middle class liberals dumped Edward Colston’s statue in the drink?
  8. Yes…. But the thing is, that’s not the point of the original poster. To follow your analogy… Pirelli would offer to sell me a set of their tyres (rather than the Hiway tyres I usually use) which I would drash about with till they wore out. At this point, they would ask me if I saw the benefits. If I have seen the benefits, they sell me another set… If not, they would generously refund me the difference in cost between my Pirellis and my usual Hiways. Pirelli would need to be confident that the tyres would speak for themselves. Personally, I don’t think Pirelli are that confident. The Anglo American Oil Company apparently do have that confidence though, so I guess, in that respect, maybe they should be applauded. 🙂
  9. I didn’t notice that the point you made in your original observation regarded them extolling the virtues of aspen, I thought it was “Interesting, but how does it 'get over the cost barrier' ?”.

    Silky Saws

It is if it gets him mistaken for Michael Jackson.
  11. It certainly looks like corrosion involving metals that should not be there. I’m not metallurgist, but I’m certainly reminded if the corrosion seen on a copper pipe joint (where the flux was not properly cleaned off) blended with the mess seen along the bottom of old Landrover defender doors (both of which are not good signs!).
  12. Do you know what the deposit / colouration is around the crack?
  13. Seems a weird place for a crack. As it’s in expanding and contracting metal, my concern (especially if you go down the blob of fire cement route) would be that it will keep extending.
  14. Fear not, the cynic in you can rest assured the it’s not just Ireland, Iceland and the Canaries that shoddy self-lockers. They are endemic in the UK also.
  15. Cool. Still awaiting the ‘Low impact forestry in Sweden’ thread!
  16. You would think, after decades of making self-lockers, making an effective and smooth closing gate would be absolutely attainable by every manufacturer now.
  17. Great part of the UK. What kinds of work? Domestic, commercial, utility?
  18. Yes, you only need to resit the unit that got referred. Good luck. It all makes an NPTC assessment look like a piece o’ pee.
  19. Nasty, narrow, twisted country lanes, I’ll think you find. Some, with hills on them…. I ask you.
  20. Although you do still get the interminable wait!
