  1. The good news is the smell of cut laurel is of almonds, the bad news is that its due to the cyanide compounds in the leaves. Cue a panic and tree removal
  2. Careful now they quite often tear off when you stand on them, make sure you have a good anchor.
  3. Not if it had a grease nipple and drilling to let grease through to shaft, then quality engineering, shame they left the old inner race on though
  4. Also handy to have saw tickets so you can cut your way to the harvester/forwarder after a storm
  5. looks to me that someone has replaced the original solenoid with an aftermarket one, as its cheaper than genuine, and that is now failing. The aftermarket looks to me to have a separate earth the black wire, the white or yellow one being the starter wire.

  10. £100-150 depends on abilities, duration and location of work. You say accommodation provided but are you including board?
  11. For the day rate or Marks drink intake.
  12. Don't let go of the handle when lowering, good fun to watch but not fun if your anywhere near it.
  13. The beauty of farm jacks when used for vehicle recovery is their instability, allowing you tojack up and push the jack sideways out of the ruts or onto fresh ground.
  14. No worries, just thought I would raise the question
  15. Can you not get the blade retipped if a few tips missing or is it completely u/s
  16. Sheet of newspaper or similar in bottom of the basket helps reduce it a lot
  17. Steve you could try parkers nurseries, cheap as chips and on dwarf rootstock M26, if they have the varieties you wish thats where we get our maidens from. www.dutchbulbs.co.uk
  18. Start with a maiden of your chose variety on a dwarf rootstock, then you can prune/train to whatever style you choose. Or buy one that is already trained in a fan etc ,but more expensive. Its more fun to train and develop your own trees in your chosen style, than buying pre done, just takes longer.
  19. Have a word with Frank FH & J Alviti Ltd. 01584 711 544
  20. Had the Rayburn lit most of August to keep 88yr old father in law warm, we have been struggling. He was up here escaping the heat in Suffolk.
