  1. Is this not standard Arb-wear? Im sure Frank was wearing his in a poplar picture i saw once.
  2. A couple from today, James was the climber, Frosty was doing the lowering and i was the eye candy for the blind girls.
  3. No need for a mewp. We were done and dusted in 3 hours, quick saturday morning job. Went to The Ferry recently does a very nice sunday cavery. You should of stopped and introduced yourself were not scary fellows:001_tongue:
  4. Don't fancy the job of clearing all that brash up once you've rung the stem up and cut it a little bit smaller. Get a head camera or just film it. I love watching other peoples tree videos:biggrin:
  5. Nice work sir, really enjoyed the pictures
  6. Yeah don't over thin it or 'Thin it to a lions tail'????? As i am going to reduce 2 Oaks which the client got somone else to thin (i was too expensive) and basicly went to above 1/3 of the trees hieight then did something. So i now have to go in and in all honsety mess up/re build crown framework on what could of been a nicely reduced tree.
  7. Yeah like i did on the back stems. Time is the big killer for me really especially as the platform is hired a minute here and there can eat into the day. (especially as we had it sink down to the axle on the sandy loam soil:thumbdown:) I think i should of probably took the time to tho. But am still glad that we didn't have to completely remove it. Also saw my 1st ever queen wasp fast asleep under some bark, i think she could be in some birds stomach by now tho.
  8. Yeah i did give them a price to cut the ivy as it would result in some nasty rose/balckthorn scrambling around but they said na:thumbdown:. I am a little bit interested to see how the habitat develops when the ivy grows over it. Will it be more benifical for wildlife as there is more density to it. Have you left ivy on any Monkey? If so did it benifit wildlife or be a little bit detrimental and you might of just left stubs?
  9. Finally got back to the oak job we started. I didn't get as much time as i wanted to get the cuts done and reduced the limbs back so there was no overhang on the highway. Fingers crossed some of whats left will give out flurry's of epicormics as all the top was dead but where the cuts are has some healthy cambium so i'll keep taking a look over this year.
  10. Daniel Powter - bad day, came to my mind:lol:
  11. Thats it im telling my mummy on you lot. Any request for music on the next video i make are welcome. Except that pizza hut one.
  12. Well YOU can talk.
  13. When citycare was going they had an in house loler inspector. He mainly delt with the other side of loler NOT arb. When it came to our inspections it was jaw dropping what i saw Prussik loops left on there ropes by some of the guys were just left on and not even looked at. When he got to mine he then told me that the friction hitch doesn't need to be inspected because one of the other guys said it wasn't required (same guy who left his prussik loops on). I insisted he checked mine and was addiment that loops/cord should be inspected. After that i sat in on all my lolers and ended up sorting everyones kits prior as i told the contracts manager i was concerend for my safety over the cord point. Although i had to go above my chargehand, supervisor and crew manager to get anyone to listen was bad enough. I guess its a fair example of what a large multi purpose company does with a qualification that covers more than one trade.
  14. Small bits and borrow a portable winch?
  15. How deep is the river? I,ve used a barge in the past to get stuff on site. But thats on the broads and the bits i work on usually have moorings of some kind.
  16. Umm not really a lot left to pick through other than a fig8 (10-15 quid). I guess it might pay to save up some money and buy a lowering bollard. Theres are a few around. Do you not like a portawrap? there only about 120-150 quid.
  17. Yeah im glad i bought the kong when i did for drt. Its handy that i can flick between the two systems.
  18. Yeah i did think there was a bit too much distance from my side attachment. Only had a couple of runs on it (not very high either) hence why i still haven't cut the elastic excess off. Best part was going to my local arb supplier to get the cut aways and find they had a 50m srt line sitting in the back room. All becuase it was ordered and the didn't like the colour. p.s the double handed grip makes it quite nice to lift up on.
  19. So this is what i've ended up with:001_smile: Dual kong, croll, petzl footloop, pantin and a couple of malions and a bit of elastic from the treemotion. Oh and 2 cut aways for connection to the sides attachments.
  20. i've got a bit of ocean polly you can have. New too, i'll give it to you when i next see you as all its done is sit on my shelf for months.
  21. i'd imagine the impact on the road would make it not safe to use. Might be Mj tree services they work saturdays.
  22. Thats a really good piece of important kit, ill be getting one too.
  23. Get a 36" Alaskan then and if you start doing more get a logsol or a lucas mill. Start cheap so you don't end up with something much more expensive sitting in the workshop.
  24. Only song on my harddrive that had matching beats to the frames, sorry:001_tongue:
