  1. no idea but it looks kinda similar to some i found growing in woodchip lastyear, you should make sure they aren't poisonous:thumbup1:, many thanks for prompt overnight delivery of bullrope yesterday. got it nice and dirty already haha
  2. dont forget the calorific values go up at branch unions/knots etc, so we should be charging a premium for splitting tough wood.
  3. im pretty sure you should only prune them in their dormant season or they will bleed forever, they do not usually need much pruning but sounds like a weight reduction is required here. i have seen props made from wood, metal and even bricks but would ensure a clean smooth joint at the mating surfaces. have you considered cable bracing? Ed
  4. i never get tired of seeing overloaded vehicles:thumbup1:
  5. should be a decent looking truck when your finished:thumbup1:, love the numberplate 'con' haha
  6. i believe you make a good valid point.. but, the next time i go over a bump im going to have a bolt-end sticking in my head, theres not enough headroom to wear a helmet, so.. how do i make the bolt-ends all soft and fluffy?
  7. nope but im usually well on top of routine welding/repairs etc so its quite painless, mine are both due in feb and cost nothing as mr mot man has a garden full of small trees/bushes..
  8. i was innocently whacking through some himalayan balsam at one end of the yard with some thinwall piping on wednesday, walked back nearly the full length of the yard before two bees started stinging me, i couldnt see them so whipped my jumper off, one inside my jumper and one inside my teeshirt. this is what the stings looked like after 5mins, four days on i can still feel the swelling a bit.. that'll teach me
  9. couple more, obviously none of this is my verdict, if i could afford a rangie then i wouldnt be sat here..
  10. pretty sure i can find an article about them in a landy mag. i was just about to send 3 boxes of mags off to someones jumblesale so i'll have a scan through tomoz.
  11. you mean them annoying users of the queens highway who pay no roadtax, like a common jaywalker.
  12. dogs crossing the road.. would say kids but they should know better. wear toecaps as the needle in the fuelgauge drops pretty fast. what year is it?
  13. they should put roads with built in weighbridges everywhere.. that would catch the real criminals, a builder i know got fined 2wk ago for being 100kg overweight (4sandbags) i'll stick to the backroads
  14. is there a prize for the stupidest question?
  15. because thats all there is holding yer helmet on when you get the jolt..
  16. local work is nice but we get a good amount of work all over, this year we have been sent to wales as well as sutton coldfield and other places, at first i felt like i was treading on local arbs toes but soon make new friends and contacts, garden centres love free chip and no firewood yard will turn away free wood. just price it right etc, change of scenery is usually welcomed by the lads. my turn for stupid question then.. i got this box to fit on cab roof, do i put the bolts through going up? or down? and why?
  17. this is current box (they dont last long) essentials such as cableties, graffiti-liquid, spanners, sockets, wd40, 3hammers, drillbits/drill and an inch of woodchip (just in case). the other essentials including stove, recovery equipment, cans of soup and lucozade fit under seatboxes:thumbup1:
  18. these are pretty good, think its 120db, any slight knock/vibration and away it screams, they only last about 6-12mth outdoors, just turn shackle round to enable/disable.
  19. what no sugar Dean? must be running on weetabix. i have to write a new h+s policy for someone as the last one was a bit vague, cant wait.. might have found time now though:thumbup:
  20. oh my computer is down till tomorrow, im using a friends for half hour. phone 07747022678 or 01484647860 thanks
  21. Hi guys, spent all day wasting time at hospital and docs, got either a hernia or muscle damage to stomach area(they havent decided which yet), told not to work for 2wks and to go see specialist, got a full weeks climbing for next week, not stupid stuff - just dismantles, crownlifts etc, ideally someone with rigging tickets and B+E trailer licence but not essential. if accomodation is needed then i have a caravan in garden etc.. thanks. Ed.
  22. cool meerkat, but i thought they were supposed to wear a dressing gown? i drove past the wickerman thingy a couple of weeks ago near dumfries and i guess its a similar construction?
  23. mines 12mth old and im having to 'choke' it to death everytime at the mo, its really easy to strip down but im sure its the switch as i've cleaned every other bit up a couple of times. stihl dealers usually have bags of them as they fit more than one machine.
