  1. Does anyone know of any good grounds men/landscapers that are looking for a full or part time position in the Birmingham area? If you or someone you know is intrested please pm me your details.Thanks.
  2. ...the weight of your climbing rope doesnt matter! lol
  3. I have some info but its not of a great help I dont think but someone else might fill in the gaps. There was a bloke that I think was from a firm called Pink hire? they were at the APF by the wood carving section. He hires them out and delivers them direct to you on a pallet with the pins for your digger. The other one is the preadator 28 for a 360 it sells for £5k but they might hire it as a demo? This one has its own engine but would need a bigger machine than a 1.5 t I would have thought as the unit is heavy. Sorry if it doesnt help.
  4. ...Your arms look like you self harm, ...Your never more than twenty feet from a combi spanner or a sthil screw driver, ... Every hoodie you own has its pockets stuffed with saw dust, ...All your "mates" down the pub only seem to talk to you when they have a conifer to top or there log store looks bare! ...You refer to a top handle saw as an "020" and not an MS200T!! ...You can remember the black air filter cover on "020's"... no wait...thats just me showing my age!! lol Good thread by the way some very funny thoughts!
  5. I would use either a bowline on the bight, or a double bowline with the tail fed through as a quick release. Another quick way to do it is tie two marlin spikes close together and attach your hook at the end of the cable through both loops.
  6. Hi There,

saw your post advertising for a climber, I'm 24, have NPTC's up to 39, full clean drivers licence since 2004 and IAM accredited. I have a years experience working on a casual basis dragging brash, feeding the chipper and ground based chainsaw work but really looking to develop as a climbing arborist.

    References avaialble on request.

What are the rates of pay and PPE provisions?

    Regards,

    Ben Pollard

  7. We are looking to take on a climber with the appropriate NPTC's. Previous experience is preferred but someone with the right attitude but lacking experience might be considered. Call me on 07918733615
  8. The MS230 is a great cheap little saw for around the chipper work. Cheaper than the MS200 but at the same weight and cc. Costs about half the price of the MS200 too, but you cant swap bits with your Ms200T if needs must. I agree with the points about the climbing saw on the ground thing, I love the "o2o" as a chipper saw. Good thread
  9. This is great stuff so we have, Socket set and ring spanners Screw drivers inc tuning one. Pliers and grips selection of screws, nuts and bolts Adjustable spanner and pipe wrench Duck tape and cable ties spare chains and files graphite powder Combi spanner Chocolate All good please add as you think...
  10. Hey guys, I was just going through my toolbox today and started to think of all the times I have needed somthing and not had it in the box. But I also carry stuff that I have never used, so the question is what do you carry in your toolbox to keep you rolling? Just to see if I can put together a comprehensive tool kit to take to every job safe in the knowledge I've got it coverd! Also what type of box do you use and any reason for that choice. Cheers guys this will either be an interesting thred or a waste of time either way thanks for your thoughts!
