  3. they aren't really the sort of tree that would pollard successfully, usually a messy crown that would be a mare to reduce anyway, nice bark interest but thats all, try to suggest a replacement maybe like for like so she can enjoy watching one grow up again, or something you can pollard and maintain as a nice pollard if thats the look she is after.. as janey says check tpo/ca etc first, have fun convincing her, Ed.
  4. fence panel here too:blushing: still get nightmares..
  5. search forum for 'muddy fail...' the vid is of 7.50/16avon rangemasters. do not get them, they last for years and hold the weight but are, well.. just watch it..
  6. i thought you could only catch crabs at the seaside? im dreaming of a groundy helmet, spikes, straps and possibly some fresh crabs..
  7. i looked into this a bit, surely stacking the stems undercover (outdoors in summer) would dry them out somewhat and you could chip them when dry? making dry woodchip. there was a grant for setting src up but ended jan 2010.

  9. i have got a spare seat in the landy to the person who helps me push the caravan out of the garden in the morning.. pm me or ring 07747022678Ed.
  10. old dude today was telling me about where he grew up, i knew the house and told him we took a large beech tree down there next to the carpark lastyear, he said when he moved away from there nobody on the street even had a car..! he was amazed how fast the chainsaw was cutting and everytime the chipper fired up he shuffled to the window to watch. nice old guy.. but then most of them are if you are ok with them
  11. fourtracks have about 2inch of suspension travel at the rear, and no springs at the front. this confuses me.. if you do get one then get big soft tyres to undulate with the bumps! having said that i know one near dumfries for sale if you are interested, but it did get stuck in soft sand haha when the landy on road slicks had no probs at all. (get a disco 200/300 they are both good)
  12. i just found a cheap way of turning you into my personal hitman.. im struggling with 1000 people, can you just do the odd one here or there?
  13. make sure you tell them you are going deaf at the start of the job, then ignore them all day:thumbup: (i really am though)
  14. throw the book at the landowner.. drugdealing scum, preying on innocent people to meet his needs, getting trees that are tpo'd and dont belong to him butchered.. hypothetically of course..
  15. shh dont encourage people to buy up the 200tdi's, theres going to be none left by the time mine goes bang..!
  16. i'd get a 300tdi disco if i had that money to spend, they really will take the abuse, oh and the dogs love the electric windows in the back. not sure of the top speed as mines rolling on remoulds so not been over 110mph, thats about twice what my suzuki ever did.
