does anyone run their chipper on red diesel?

always use red, just shop around for the best price, at the moment you should find it approx half the price of white, ask farmers and plant hire firms or oil companies, i was lucky and found someone who gives me red in exchange for clean white woodchip:thumbup: -

driving past a war memorial today and the pavement around was packed with people, i had just put the radio on and thought it was on mute or something, then they played a song with 'remember me' in the lyrics so i knew something was going on, i didn't know beforehand at all as there is no radio in the work tug (i was driving the womans disco) and i never watch the news so am painfully ill informed these days..

i did a presentation on antiherbivore adaptation at college and think that this qualifies me to put my stamp on this thread, thats all i've got:blushing:, isnt it usually horticulturalists who mess with plant traits and get a cross with no thorns/more thorns etc, not sure if everytime it gets pruned/bitten/wounded it reprotects itself so how to change that is a tricky one, im a big fan of thorny security hedging, you know - the thick, closely planted stuff that nobody can wriggle through because its planted in 3 or 4 rows of mixed berberis/blackthorn/hawthorn etc.. -
im pretty sure its blackthorn that can give a mild form of blood poisoning, i'd rather have a hawthorn to play with anyday:crying:

went past the land rover centre today (im still up so no its not tomorrow yet), and got a price for all the necessary bits to convert standard 110 hicap to helper sprung legal looking even when overloaded hicap, if that makes sense? helper springs £16+vat each, top retainer £14.40+vat each, bottom retainer £18+vat, obviously you would need 2x of each part, total £113.74 and it should take half an hour per side to fit including brew break:thumbup1:

don't ever take a pee in view of any house windows, tree work is a spectator sport so you are nearly always being watched:001_smile:, keep an eye on all the tackle, if there's any kit out of sight keep nipping round there to check and be prepared to confront anyone who comes near, if a scrap metal type tranny drives past be assured they will drive past another couple of times so glare at them the first time and make sure you have a tool handy to defend yourself, have fun its an ace job:thumbup:

go outside and come back in, do you feel it yet? dont be tempted to stack it full yet, small burn first and gradually work up to raging inferno a week later, next week you will be opening the back door to let the heat out and eating rapidly melting icecream whilst sat in yer underpants..

one of them things that are up to the oraficers frame of mind on the day, i once got a notice of 'prohibition of use' for the ifor williams trailer as the breakaway cable had snapped the day before, (i forgot to undo it and pulled away) they said to ring them when i had fitted a new one, fitted nextday and prohibition notice lifted when they nipped round to the house to check it the following day, 3pts and a fine sounds a bit harsh to me.. -
i was planning on ringing them to see if they could give me any info on it.. better not be nicked haha, i got it from a vicar guy so its probably red hot:thumbup:

righto, im now the proud owner of erm, well im not sure what the make/model is but it was a bit of a bargain.. off to pick it up sometime this week if i get time, its a honda 11hp petrol engine and started first pull after 3mths sat, i might have chewed the guys garden up a bit testing it:blushing:

i understand the effort/time gone into creating realistic working scale models but its proper annoying watching a sweet landy or truck on youtube manage to claw its way up an impossible boulder crawl to realise its an 'RC'

last time i saw someone climbing a tree with just some shoelaces it was bear grylls, im not that keen on modelling my skills/kit on his behaviour:thumbup:

good choice, we only make big decisions like that when forced to out of sheer desperation, nice landy but still unsure as to the purpose of all that plastic under the bonnet:biggrin:

it wouldn't be allowed in my house, last time i brought anything in from the garage i nearly got stabbed (lucky she never found that cylinderhead in the dishwasher), sorry can't comment on the bits of string as i still climb on a good old blakes..

insurance? guard dogs? man traps? rape alarms tagged to doors/kit? ground anchors to vehicles, the current favourite is to winch landies onto a beavertail and scarper almost silently so park awkwardly with wheels on full lock and drape yer socks from the previous day over the steeringwheel..

i got really mad with the 110 yesterday, had parked it nose first at an awkward angle over the ground anchor log as usual, with a full load of chip to drop off and the battery was flat as a fart, (my fault the trigger wire for the alternator had fallen off the battery again) so i fetched the disco round to bumpstart it backwards but couldn't get enough speed or traction on the muddy gravel, jumpleads didn't work because they don't get enough current through the connections so i pulled the battery off the chipper and fitted that to the landy to start it. i love my landrover too but sometimes its a bit grrr

hi rovers90, the 110 hicap is more like 1.5cube for a level load if you count the wheelboxes and the fuel triangle:001_smile: but thats being really picky because i measured mine lastweek:thumbup:

same story here, haix protector pro's starting to peel away on the side of the sole after 12mths, im going to get them into a decent cobbler when i get a spare minute, the last pair were fine just soles wore out, i might drop them in at the same time for new soles and keep them for a spare set. 12mths is all you can expect, anything more is a bonus i reccon. hate the pressed steel hitch on the timberwolf too, its starting to lose its shape a bit at the front lip from rolling it into the ball too hard:thumbdown:
