    i was sat eating chips in the local coop carpark friday night, the delivery wagon turned up and after 15 or so attempts at reversing round the simple 90degree off camber corner, each ending in wheelspin and loss of momentum (he was cutting the corner too tight) he decided to give it a run up, pulled forward across the road and shot backwards at high speed.. straight into the stone wall behind with a right old crash! at this point he got out for the first time to check he was lined up right, another 10 attempts and i could smell clutch.. the drivers mate just stayed sat in the passenger seat all the time, when they finally got it up to the loading bay the tail lift was not working (big time bent) was hilarious, didn't have camera with me, pity..

    had to google half of your sentence to work out what it meant.. the trouble i find with fung identifiers is i visually see the fung but am unable to tell the computer what i am seeing in order to find what it is,

    new favorite customer brought out a nice spread of spam and chicken sandwiches, fresh salad and more than enough tea, biccies and lemonade, two days in a row, sat there in the sun with a full belly staring at an empty plate and realised whoever designed the plate had included a tree with crown dieback, fungi on the stem, exposed rootplate and over a bridge and popular fishing spot, wonder how many people would have painted a perfect healthy tree instead?

    haha, the bit under the bonnet where the rockercover should be says BFGoodrich on it.. does the engine run on old tyres? or have BFG started to make engines? might stick a BFGoodrich sticker on my 200tdi to see if it goes like stink:thumbup:

    mines approx 5% of turnover at the moment, it works for me so i'll keep paying it.

    had to show my passport at the border, apparently they thought i was a softy from southern parts as there was an umbrella in the landrover.. after burning red roses and turning my nose up at the offer of a complimentary room with a sheep they let me pass with a warning..

    havn't built a fire for a while, if i'm in a rush then £10 of petrol poured on top, then flick matches from a safe distance (2metres), the explosion usually makes the pile(about the size of two landrovers) jump a foot in the air and bring all the residents of the valley out in a panic.. the fuel must be ignited immediately after pouring or will evaporate and be a complete waste, the more leisurely approach is the 'hot start', build a pallet stack (3pallets) packed with kindling and smokeless coal to get the fire going really hot, then keep throwing brash on as fast as you can, everytime the flames burn through the canopy of brash you just patch the hole with more brash.. please note these methods must be used by trained professionals only, and you should use extreme caution not to spill your beer with any stray explosions:thumbup1:

    i ventured outside the shire a few weeks ago for some hydraulic work to a machine, when i asked if i was getting their very best price they accused me of being a tight Yorkshireman..

    saw a lot of this style roof rack in california, looks strong and could board out the sides if needed.. should be pretty easy to fabricate too..

    much smaller scale but had lasted years with 'bracing', cobra bracing systems do some good kits that are rated with decent weight ratings, dont forget to factor in the weight of the braced piece as a whole on the anchor piece plus adding the shock load weight, i.e. how far it will drop before being caught. Ed.

    just for fun, tony is predicting worst winter in 1000yrs, i delivered 2cube of logs to a weather enthusiast last week who says it'll be more snow and ice than last year, i'm hoping for snow, lots of snow. what do you think it'll do? Ed.

    it looks ace:001_smile:, not seen one just like that before, i just use a fire basket in an open hearth and its very wasteful, is yours a bricked up hearth to fit the fire in? Ed.

    we had a job lastyear removing a couple of trees so ground could be excavated to remove spilt oil, a tank that had been empty and disused had been filled by mistake by a tanker driver, the tank was just about to be removed so had pipes sawn off before it had been filled, the worst bit was shell oil co refused to acknowledge the incident and after going through courts we were called to site to start felling before excavation over a year after the spill, nuts eh? imagine the distance oil can get in a year on a steep banking..

    my saw doesn't move that fast, wonder if its lazy? can't help thinking my bigger dogs (which are ace) will dig into the trunk a bit too much, he didn't have any on the right hand side of his saw and slid it along on that bit. gotta love the stihl tracksuit though..

    or put them in a vice and attack them with combi spanners and molegrips, i like what Peter says about using a portawrap in the system.

    thats a nice pic:thumbup1:,conkers are fun, a nice alternative to throwing apples at each other.. i filled the blower nozzle with them the other day(with it on tickover) and blew them all out at once:biggrin:

    few from this week and lastweek, i expect to be way off the mark for id as usual but here goes.. 1. Scutellinia scutellata, eyelash fung on dead rowan 2. Ganoderma adspersum, on the same dead rowan 3. Chlorophyllum rhacodes, shaggy parasol 4. Salix handcutifung, i know it will regenerate but hey.. why not? 5. no idea, its not in my 'collins gem'

    we're all allowed a 'bit of personal', so here's my 3stores in the garden, just topped two of them up today before they get filled with oil cans and bits of anything i want to keep dry..
