  1. You may have a 4week parts only warranty on this machine. Would you not try the vendor. If you got it from the same place we got our last recon chipper from that's what he told us. Our even ask them where they,d get parts. Might be worth a try.
  2. Selecta DNA forensic marker on everything:thumbup1:
  3. Glad to see you posting again tonight - have you been screeaming in the garden since your last post at 5pm tonight and if so, God help your neighbours. You'll often find comfort in the strangest places (Arbtalk is about as strange as it gets). Be careful with the highs and the lows won't be so low - keep it steady - and keep asking for help if you need anything.
  4. I,ve never heard of Leylandii being sold bare root at any size. Is it very small ones you are looking for 45-60's? I'd be worried about them not establishing root growth quick enough to keep up with the demands of the top growth if they are not well pampered. Just checked some of the dutch, english and southern irish wholesale listings and can't see bare root ones. Let me know if you get some and how you get on with them.
  5. I reckon you let one run every now and again just to get the "vib" then you single out the trouble makers and send a "virus" down the systems to blow up their computers. Only joking please don't blow up my computer:biggrin:
  6. Gojo hand cleaner - and it smells of oranges afterwards:001_smile:
  7. Sorry guys, I don't have a link - only the original magazine copy. Maybe someone can scan it in if there's no copyright or maybe those nice people at Essential Arb could do something?
  8. I have both B&Q ones and some from Tescos - I,m not seeing any difference in there performance and they're a couple of years old now. We've about 10 of them. For 3 quid I'll take a chance on them - I expect they may be lost or left on site before they expire.
  9. Am I the only one that thought the review in this months Essential Arb of this company was excellent? or has someone else already mentioned it:blushing:? I don't know Tom from Adam but I thought the article was a fantastic review of a progressive company. Good photo,s and written commentary and a good bit of back ground. Nice one Tom ( and the Essential Arb team)
  10. FR Jones - £2.96 plus VAT for 42litre ones. Tescos did have them on offer at £3 all in but they've done up to £4 now
  11. Farmers have some strange excemptions, clearing branches, etc - have a look at this link and it may give some additional help. Perhaps farmers and those doing farm operations are borne with a higher level of inbuilt chainsaw competence? http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg317.pdf
  12. That's what I've concluded also:thumbup1:
  13. I agree we have a responsibility, but I,m pretty thick when it comes interpreting some of this information. There is no IQ test for taking a driving test or for retraining and the information should be available at the most basic level or they should issue updates to each driver when something major changes. There's no way some old grunter is going to be surfing the internet for a forum to ask about operators licenses and changes to weights and towing requirements yet they will still prosecute me - (I mean someone:blushing:) for not knowing. Anyhow we've invited VOSA to come out to our next trade association meeting for a face to face wrestle with the new regs. We've had to submit a list of questions ahead to so they can have the answers for us. Should be interesting:biggrin:
  14. Just disconnect the brakes if it's light enough - then it's an unbraked trailer if there is an issue.
  15. You see the "unbraked" bit, thats the bit I can't find in the Highway Code, Govt Direct website and I've just pulled out my license and I can only find the words "up to 750kg" - I,m not finding the words "unbraked" anywhere. I've even checked the ifor williams website FAQ and still no reference.
  16. Another option is Masons may take it as a trade in against the reconditioned 220mx (although it looks like a 200mx to me) they have on their website today
  17. That's what I,m taking out of it also - so if I get stopped I,m blaming you and if you get stopped you can blame me. We've got three different chippers now and I could still stand and watch them grab a big branch, drag it in and fire out a load of chip the other side all day. They truely are an amazing bit of kit. You need to get a few pictures of her on your website now for those flying chip shots About the shoot folding - there's a picture of one in this months Esential Arb or Forestry Journal of a company called Touching Wood - their chipper shoot looks like it has some sort of spring loading on it - could it be a hinging device? Good luck with the chipper:thumbup:
  18. I've been trying to look into this and can't find the legislation on it not being braked. All I can find is a maximum permission mass of 750kg - its doesn't mention braked or unbraked? So is it an assumption that it's unbraked because of its low gross weight or is it the law. Just curious:confused1:
  19. I have now and it has downloaded perfectly - Thanks:blushing:
  20. Thanks guys for this. It's on a heavy limb heading towards a busy carpark. I think we'll get the weight out of this one to be on the safe side. Might do a bit of a climb around to see if there is anything else in the canopy. Many thanks
  21. Could anyone id this one for me. I,m thinking maybe Laetiporus.
  22. I can't seem to get it to open - Can anyone else get it to open? Edit I can get the PDF to download but it's blank?
  23. I not sure - I think as long as it isn't over the vehicle payload or bringing the vehicle over 3.5t gross loaded and then the trailer would be another 750kg
  24. We reckon on one bulk bag of split logs. So around or under 1m3 of split timber including the weight of the trailer and you are around 750kg. all very round figures but there are so many variables.
