  1. Use to be A only, but...best thing I have ever done is introduce 50/50 mixed loads. Brilliant dry pine and ash loads have been a brilliant seller this winter, marketed as stove mix. I also offer premium hardwood load (90% ash) and budget load (main arb arisings softwood with a bit of pop). Need to be flexible.
  2. I might give Kilworth a ring tomorrow seeing its a common thing, its not under warrenty but worth a go...?!
  3. Just learnt my friends machine has done exactly the same thing. Do it cant rub on anything, I think it twists with each downward movement of the saw. Only noticed when I took the little cover off, which I very rarely do
  4. Anyone had this happen? Bit annoyed tbh, machine is less then 2yrs old and hasnt done a stupid amount of wood. And doesnt look likr the pipe is rubbing on anything?! Cheers
  5. I try and accommodate everyone, ill tie loads in with going somewhere etc. Remember delivery is VAT chargeable at 20% if your registered. Thats why I don't charge for delivery.
  6. Ive got the self loading tajfun deck, it's good but I intend on building a home made deck to feed that.
  7. For value I dont think the oxdales can be beaten, I was very impressed with the stand at lamma yesterday. The bigger ones and road towable especially
  8. I had a look at the Oxdale towable splitter yesterday at LAMMA, was really impressed and think they have come along way in last few years imo.
  9. Graham, I have tried to PM but your box is full. Let me know whe you have created some space. Ben
  10. Heard of loads of grants for processors and associated firewood kit before, just wondering if people have been successful with grants for non mechanical stuff? Im interested to hear if people have been successful with ploytunnels, storage crates etc? Thanks
  11. Ive got a Tajfun 400, awesome machine. Been very realiable. I buy in when I can but I dont get sucked into paying over the odds. A lot of my timber is from farm envrio work, hedge coppicing, thinnings that sortmof stuff etc
  12. Dont get caught up on the whole 'it must be arrow stright to go in a processor' talk. Yeh it helps but id still say 70% of the stuff I put through mine isnt overly processor friendly straight stuff. Still easier and quicker and safer then a bench. I didnt buy my processor to do 10 times more wood, I got it to do what I have been doing 10 times quicker and safer. Think of it like that and you wont be disappointed
  13. I have got a short video of my tajfun doing big ash and 8 way split, shame it wont load on here for some reason
  14. I reckon you must be right Graham! Nearly sold all the Pine I bought in as well, with not a single query about my new mixed loads.
  15. Dont do it steve! Let the competition get frustrated by you selling at a healthy price instead of you worrying about them. Ive upper my price this year (am probably the dearest in the area) but ive sold more then last year, ive retained my customers and have had 15 new customers in december alone....thats despite some competition being less then half the price I am.
  16. AHPP and scraggs I dont plan (or doubt ill be able to move) to do much before the weekend. Catch up then, cheers
  17. Both road towable and tractor machine will have their limitations. Ive took my tajfun into woods with the tractor that youd never get a truck into, but then I wouldnt want to take machine on tractor 50 miles away (to do that i take it on my ifor 8x5 trailer, fits perfectly )
  18. Why do you have to reach over and pull that ruddy great lever?!
  19. No I havent 12 wasnt available when I bought it. And tbh Im happy with the 8. You have to keep raising and lowering it to get uniform log size and yeh get the odd bit of re splitting but not much. Tends to be more when im contract processing and im a bit more picky etc
  20. Strange. I havent found it spits at all on my open fire. It is very dry stuff mind
  21. Yeah really well. Had little issue with electrics that kilworth sorted under warrenty. Only other issue has come from operator forcing through a bit that should of been handled with more care. Hence why I operate it now all the time.
  22. The bar is 17" and with a little shuffling you can do just a bit bigger.
  23. Ive got an 8way knife on my tajfun and works really well on big stuff. The hydraulic ram on the knife allows you to use the 8 way as a 2 way if the odd bit of smaller stuff goes through etc
