  1. Your to far for me but im looking to add more bulk loads to my stock as my farm work has got alot busier and im going to struggle to find time to process enough before winter tbh
  2. Look for bulk loads of logs, softwood and lower value hardwoods...to compliment the bulk ash logs I have recently secured. I have tractor and trailer for haulage if there is anything closer enough. Nick, do you still offer bulker loads of logs? Thanks Ben
  3. I looked at hiring one, but did the sums and buying made sense to me at the time. I send mine out on hire with an operator did 10 days contract processung last year which paid for the machine that year in theory. Sent from my SM-T310 using Arbtalk mobile app
  4. Could be cheap wood but massive hassle getting out of that shed by the looks of things Sent from my SM-T310 using Arbtalk mobile app
  5. Ah I see. Im hoping I have just secured a good supply of ash logs and was wondering how to market them above my current mixed loads. All the best Sent from my SM-T310 using Arbtalk mobile app
  6. Just out of interest, why just Ash? Do you market you firewood as mostly Ash? Sent from my SM-T310 using Arbtalk mobile app
  7. Looking to add more stock for my firewood business as summer sales have been stronger then normal. Ideally needs to go through my processor but Im happy to take anything really (apart from Poplar) if the price is right. I have a good yard with hardstanding access straight off a main road. Would welcome regular Arb Waste drops if any tree surgeon guys are interested. Many thanks Sent from my SM-T310 using Arbtalk mobile app

  9. I have some real big bits of timber I need to split. Would like to split it and keep as long a lengths as possible so can run the bita once small enough through the processor. Anyone got anything 25t ish and long splitting ram? Sent from my SM-T310 using Arbtalk mobile app

  11. Hi, Im just putting some feelers out there, looking for someone to help me with my firewood, estate work and farming business. Im really at the max at what i can do on my own and would be great to get a few numbers of reliable, hard working people so I can make contact with them if and when work arises. Would be mainly helping with firewood production, winter time I undertake hedgerow coppicing, pond/ditch work and time in woodlands. Could be some arable tractor driving for the right person. Its not a fulltime position and needs to be flexible, as the nature of my business means work changes very quickly from one day to another. Would just start the odd day here and there to start with and go from there. Obviously tickets and normal insurances would be needed for SE workers. Could potentially lead to a fair amount of work if I find the right person, who would enable me to grow the business. Leave a message on here if interested. 12. Yes its fine, just ask @HullsMillFarm I have got a huge amount of willow to sort out. Over 100 trees came down on a friends farm Sent from my SM-T310 using Arbtalk mobile app
  13. As title suggests. Been running my machine for a year now and very impressed with it. I am always keen to get more contract processing work with it. Processor will handle wide range of timber and doesnt have to be perfectly straight, I put a lot of hedgerow timber through it. 18" is about the max it'll take. For contract processing I supply processor with 2, 4 and 8 way knife, swivel conveyor and self loading log deck. I will also bring along 12t splitter for larger stuff. My tractor is also equipped with a loader, so can move big stuff about with that if require. Could also supply a tipper trailer. If interested please pm me and ill get straight back to you. 14. Sounds interesting, what sort of investment have they made in you? And what grant are you waiting on?! Sent from my SM-T310 using Arbtalk mobile app
  15. Thats some heavy soft wood. I filled 3 bulk bags with ash and elm last year, they weighed 280kgs a bag on average. Sent from my SM-T310 using Arbtalk mobile app
  16. Jesus that does sound a lot, £78 inc vat or £65 exc vat per cube surely doesnt leave much profit?! I wouldnt bother at that. Im currently working on each cube sold costing me £20-£30 in timber. Was offered some cord recently, delievered in at over £60 ton. Thats too much for me. Sent from my SM-T310 using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. Rigger gloves, good ones...not the cheap 2 pound pairs Sent from my SM-T310 using Arbtalk mobile app
  18. Sounds a nice price that, I would buy it all uo if I was you. Mix some hardwood in with it and sell for £100 a cube. Lovely job Sent from my SM-T310 using Arbtalk mobile app
  19. Very nice Tom, what sort of money? Sent from my SM-T310 using Arbtalk mobile app
  20. Dad found a bit like that with my processor not long after I bought it, nakered chain instantly Sent from my SM-T310 using Arbtalk mobile app
  21. A friend of mine has just set up a new chimney sweep business and we are going to have a chat to see if we can work together. As long as he does a good job and I continue to supply quality firewood, I cant see that many negatives.... Anyone else have a similar arrangement? Any pitfalls? 22. Massive firewood yard not far from Farlie, South Island New Zealand. He was putting 2000 cube a year through his processor

    Poplar

    good luck with that
  24. IMHO people get too hung up and make things to complicated with log size. My processor from new has been set at 9in and I havent moved it. We have a small log burner and I know what fits in that so I tend to judge logs etc on that. Altho the processor is set at 9", i can trick it to do 7-8 and 11-12 (every 1/3 log if that makes sense) without changing settings. I dont entertain people who want a whole load of sub 8", to much more work and more wood as well. If I have a couple of chunky logs go through, I just laugh with the customer and say its their night log, or the man of the house looks like he likes to swing an axe etc! I always ask what size customers want, but in reality 95% of my loads that leave the yard are around the 9" mark.
  25. Where in the uk is this unit? Never seen a grainstore full of logs!
