  1. My 2014 ktm 250 exc and 2012 yz 250xc. Both mega bikes. Yz is for sale if anyone interested.
  2. Thats what im doing and plan to do more of. Absolutely hate taking timber back to the yard if I can process it where is. Cut the handling right out of the job.
  3. Buy it per cube. Try to avoid buying anything via weight if I can help it
  4. Christ im not going down that road again (no pun intended)
  5. Your right there...but I don't understand why more dont go to the woods or roadsode with their processors. I aim to cut out cord haulage completely this year. Instead go to the heap with my machine and 18t grain trailer. I appreciate you have to be close by to make this practical etc. There is no way ill pay for cord haulage with 35ish miles of my yard.
  6. Only moved it about on the front so far but plan tp use it on the front this winter. Very handy being able to move to bita of kit at once. I have to hydraulic services at the front as well. Quite often have processor on the back and some one splitting bigger stuff up front at the same time
  7. I have a 09 MF 6480. Been a great machine so far. Done a faur few hrs but having an easy life with me! Front linkage and pto very handy, means I can go off processing with trailer and no need for another tractor. Bought a new loader for it this year. Shiuld prove very handy this winter.
  8. Plenty if you buy enough in whole sale and sell to end user
  9. Take the top off for a start
  10. Processor is set at 25cm and thats what I do 90% at. But more then happy to go bigger if I can convince people!
  11. Looks familiar! I had a look at it at suffolk show, im now buying my netted logs in at wholesale. But if that changes ill speak with you mate.
  12. That goes without saying, my handling and delivery methods atm are the biggest lose of efficiency I suffer. I n3ver started the thread to boast about outputs, far from it
  13. My yard and handling isnt set up properly yet to maximise output of my Joy. Atm feeding it mostly manually I can easily fill my truck and trailer (cube) within the hour. But like others have said, with real small timber can take an hour to do my truck. I recently filled a little 10 cube grain trailer in 4hrs, was all small Elm which had been coppiced out of hedges. I was more then happy with that output. All relative to the circumstance I suppose.
  14. Not really. I know the chances of getting perfect output are very slim, I have only been close to it that once. I was only really curious what others have achieved. It took me an hour to do 3 cube today, that was on my own and spliting small lengths of ash with the single and 4 way blade.
  15. Do you reckon Jay? I sort of asked the question as to what owners thought would be max output. Old matey from Kilworth said 10 cube an hr but I reckon everything set up perfect with perfect wood you may get 11 or 12 (but chances of getting in that situation are slim).
  16. Yes I havent done that sort of output again. It was all stuff that was literally boardline too big but just fitted in. All split with the 8 way knife, straight onto a big pile in a barn. Not the towable log deck, the static self loading deck. The towable one was to much money to justify. Im going to fabricate one for a fraction of the price when I get a chance.
  17. Had my Tajfun over a year now and very happy with it. Just wondered what fellow owners are getting out of it output wise. I know there are loads of variables to consider but just interested thats all. I did 15t roughly of big diameter cord wood in under 4 hours for a customer, thats the best ive done. Must of equated to roughly 8 or 9 cube an hour. That was me on controls non stop with a guy loading log deck with loader. Most of the time im around 3 or 4 cube an hour I suppose on average. Thats loading the machine by hand most of the time. Every contracting job I have done the customer has always been impressed with the output.
  18. I have a yard 5 miles from edge of Colchester (Mount Bures) where I can take decent chip and logs. Happy to pay good money for decent logs.
  19. As long as you lube them up every so often they are fine. Id rather do that every 5/6 months (or when putting new tyres on which can be monthly) then worry about a puncture everytime I go out!
  20. Yeah...get mousses! Had 3 sets now in various ktms and never looked back. No more punctures for me!
  21. He hasnt got muxh left now simon, not much left to sell at all. Sad really.
  22. Couldnt agree more with that. Loyalty means nothing now. Dad was made redundant last yr after 45yrs working for same farmer. Was disgusting how they got shot of dad.
  23. Printing.com are good, the bury st eds franchise is good
  24. I honestly cant believe skilled guys are driving, self employed, for around the 10-12 quid mark. Ive done a lot of it, £15 an hr for me minimum and £26 for me and my tractor (farmer supplies fuel). Especially if you gave given them 15yrs service you need to be asking more if your good at what you do.
  25. Quite possibly. Will text tomorrow to discuss.
